About this listen

A secret romance sends three estranged sisters to the Amalfi Coast to follow clues about their mother’s past, and challenges them to a whole new future, in this emotional novel from New York Times best-selling author Jennifer Probst.

Priscilla, Devon, and Bailey haven’t been close in years, but when the sisters are forced to come together to settle their mother’s estate, they discover a secret. In an old trunk, they happen upon ownership papers for a house on the Amalfi Coast, along with a love letter to their mother from an anonymous man, promising to meet her in Italy during the summer of her 65th birthday.

Now they’re questioning everything they knew about her history. In order to get answers about the woman they thought they knew, they’ll have to go back to where it all started. The sisters embark on a trip to the stunning cliffside village of Positano, Italy, to track down the mysterious ex-lover and figure out who their mother really was.

As Priscilla, Devon, and Bailey unearth the truth, they also experience the magic of Italy, the power of sisterly love, a little unexpected romance, and newfound hope for the future.

"Such a beautiful story of timeless love, a seaside village, and the real meaning of family. Priscilla, Devon and Bailey reunite as they learn their recently passed mother had a longtime secret love. In the process, they learn a few important things about themselves, too. I highly recommend taking this heartwarming trip to Italy with all the feels!"—Lori Foster, New York Times bestselling author

I loved Ann Marie Lee as Olivia! There are some negative reviews on her being to dramatic but I thought she actually preformed the character of Olivia.

Great narrators

I was saddened by the lost/missed love but it warmed my heart to see the restoration of family relationships. Great job Jennifer.

The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti is so much more than just love letters. It's 3 sisters learning who they while trying to uncover a love affair of their mothers. Priscilla, Devon & Bailey have lost the closeness they once shared as sisters over the years when their lives are all taken in different direction. After the death of their mother Olivia, they discover a whole different life their mother had at one time through her love letters as well as finding out about a house they own in Italy. There is so much more to Italy than just the house and an old love story. Jennifer Probst takes us on a journey of self-discovery for these sisters while also tracking a past that their mother never discussed. This is such a well written book and really makes you think about how everything we do in life and experience is a steppingstone in our paths of life.

The voice of Olivia was over dramatic and difficult to listen to. The story was pleasant, but was simple and under developed.

Unpleasant narration

Story was good, but Therese Plummer's narration saved the story. Other female narration not so good.

Therese Plummer Magnificent as always!

I enjoyed the story of the three sisters and their journeys to figure out their lives and relationships. I really loved the character of Rafael (who was almost impossibly wise and understanding beyond his years), but I really didn’t like the character of Olivia or her decisions. Since their story was the main story of the book, That was a problem. The narrators were also a mixed bag. Not a one of them could do an authentic Italian accent and the one that read for the three sisters could not pronounce spaghetti Bolognese anywhere close to how you actually pronounce it. It sounded like a totally different second word. The story brought the beauty of the Amalfi coast to life, but it definitely had some inaccuracies. There were definitely parts that I enjoyed but overall it was just okay.

Good and Bad for both the storied and narrators

Really struggled with the narration of this book. I enjoyed the story and persevered through the terrible Olivia chapters, but honestly thought about not finishing this book so many times because of the breathy, whiny narration.

Very Whiny
