Kerrigan delivers again
Reviewed: 10-03-20
You won’t be disappointed in this book! The Author delivers with her story and her words and the narrator is far and above any I’ve ever listened to. I cannot rate his performance high enough. Not only does he easily switch from himself to character to character, man, woman or child, but he REMEMBERS each and every voice across several stories and books. I love how his “Christopher Argent” voice in book 2 of her Victorian Rebel series, is the same in books one, three, five, six and seven! I love Kerrigan Byrne and I love Derek Perkins!!

I just couldn’t finish
Reviewed: 12-08-19
I’m sorry, I tried several times to finish this book, it has high ratings and I was looking for a new author and series. But OH MY GOSH. The female I’m this book is all over the place but is weak and flaky. She is supposed to have an ill used and mentally drained widow who has been ruled by a tyrant since she was 13, but she stands up quickly to David. She a damn DOUGLAS, and in every book I have read regarding Scotland, the Douglas clan is always super powerful, super scary, super rich blah blah.... NO ONE would be able to disrespect a Douglas so that part was lame. Allison is stupid with her daughters safety. David is weak in front of his clan because Allison always interfering instead of talking to him in private.
The sex scene are boring and awkward.
Robbie was disrespectful and deserved some sort of punishment and should have been told that if he wanted to be treated as a man and go in raids then first he had to learn how to be the man of the keep and doing what he was tasked to do and not question his Laird. David should have knocked him on his ass. He should have humbled him real quick because Robbie sounded really spoiled and bitter for 14.
Overall, I just couldn’t finish this book. I love the narrator, I have listened to him before and he’s the only reason I tried to finish this so many times, I kept hoping it got better but it never did.
