Story
It’s October, hunting season in the Green Mountains - and the Vermont wilderness has never been more beautiful or more dangerous. Especially for nine-year-old Henry, who’s lost in the woods. Again. Only this time, he sees something terrible. When a young woman is found shot through the heart with a fatal arrow, Mercy thinks that something is murder. But Henry, a math genius whose autism often silences him when he should speak up most, is not talking.

loved story itself, just bummed at how she wrote the very last interaction between main characters, but presume it was to give a plot point for them to pick up in the next book. I do wish there was a little more to the romance but other than that I thoroughly enjoyed the rare inclusion of autism in a k9 series book. From a dog trainer's point of view, I'd absolutely recommend to others, even to fellow trainers.

Story
Ryder Creed and his K9 search-and-rescue dogs return in the second installment of an exciting new series, teaming up once more with FBI profiler Maggie O'Dell in their riskiest case yet. When Ryder Creed responds to a devastating mudslide in North Carolina, he knows that the difference between finding survivors and the dead is time. He and his sturdiest search-and-rescue dog, Bolo, get to work immediately, but the scene is rife with danger.

Even better than the last Ryder creed!

Alex's second best book yet! (Only to my first read & all time favorite, Exposed). If these same characters as Benjamin Platt and Ryder Creed had been incorporated into the Maggie O'Dell series earlier, it would've improved the series 150%. The only things I'd like to see differently in he future/aspects that could've improved this novel is a bit of romance incorporated (other then how Alex had Maggie emotionally stuck between both men to a certain degree, yet will only have about 5 minutes' reading be about what they say to eachother to acknowledge it or do physically rather than all this tip-toeing around everything.). The only other improvement is another general characteristic seen in all her novels, which is too abrupt of an ending without any sense of resolution. Other than that, I really enjoyed this book and wouldn't hesitate suggesting it to anyone- especially to those who've enjoyed this series in the past or who are huge dog fans and fascinated at their helpful capabilities like I am.
