Story
When Penny Dahl calls the Finders Keepers detective agency, hoping for help locating her missing daughter, Holly Gibney is reluctant to accept the case. Her partner, Pete, has Covid. Her (very complicated) mother has just passed away. And Holly is meant to be on leave. But something in Penny’s desperate voice makes it impossible to turn her down. Meanwhile, mere blocks from where Bonnie Dahl disappeared live Professors Rodney and Emily Harris. But they are also harboring a shocking, unholy secret.

ENOUGH with your Politics King
Reviewed: 04-01-24
I've been reading Stephen's books for 30 years & listening to them on Audible for 2-3. I've been a fan throughout never taking in to consideration his Left leaning (Now even Left of democratic) position because it never seaped into his work. I beleave It shouldn't dictate how his work is digested. I lean right and am closer to a Republican but not an ULTRA MAGA, (something Mainstream media can't seam to wrap they're heads around).
Less than ONE hour in Stephen's obvious hatred for Trump and anyone who resisted the vaccine campaign is brought forth FRONT & Center.
Enough with your Politics Stephen.
I love the Mercedes Series and looked forward to Holly but you just lost a faithful fan and did what you LITERALLY blamed Trump for doing in the chapter I just exited- You took place in Deviding the Country.

Story
High-powered businesswoman Lana Rubicon has a lot to be proud of: her keen intelligence, impeccable taste, and the L.A. real estate empire she’s built. But when she finds herself trapped 300 miles north of the city, convalescing in a sleepy coastal town with her adult daughter Beth and teenage granddaughter Jack, Lana is stuck counting otters instead of square footage—and hoping that boredom won’t kill her before the cancer does.

Story
Tom Segura is known for his twisted takes and irreverent comedic voice. But after a few years of crazy tours and churning out podcasts weekly, all while parenting two young children, he desperately needs a second to himself. It’s not that he hates his friends and family — he’s not a monster — he’s just beat, which is why his son’s (ruthless) first full sentence, “I’d like to play alone, please,” has since become his mantra.

I read a lot & I listen to a lot of Audio Books ranging from horror and thrillers to auto biographies about Rock Stars and music. Typically all autobiographies begin " I was born on this day and this was my family." and for the next 5 chapters it's bland drivel Noone really cares about. What we want is the Good stuff. How'd did they "Make It?" What were those experiences like? Challenges? Let downs? Inspiration?
This book had all of the "Good" stuff sprinkled in with stories of adolescence, which (it turns out) was also the "Good" stuff.
Great job Tom.
I highly recommend this book to anyone within earshot.

Story
No one but Stephen King could tell this story about the darkness at the heart of the unknown and our compulsion to investigate the unexplained. With echoes of Dashiell Hammett's The Maltese Falcon and the work of Graham Greene, one of the world's great storytellers presents a surprising tale that explores the nature of mystery itself.

Narration was pretty good. Story lagged. Was left kind of disappointed. I've read and listened to about 20 of Stephen's stories. I'm usually entertained. Was not much so with this one.
