Story
Gabriel Coleman has always known he has distant relatives, but since his father's funeral, he’s never heard a word from them. However, Academy rules are clear: finding your family and putting them forward to the Academy to be vetted for adoption is a requirement of becoming a full-fledged member. If Gabriel doesn't complete the task, he'll be left behind. Again.

What an emotional roller coaster! Good story writing as always. On a side note, I really hope Sang gets to take the dog home. Can’t wait to see what’s next. Hopefully we’ll see more of Owen in the next book.

I was a little hesitant because I first came across this author on TikTok. The reviews were great so I took a chance. If you are on the fence about getting this book/audiobook, do it! It is SO GOOD! I was laughing like a crazy person all the way through. I was absolutely hooked after hearing the first thing Sloane said to Rowan. Can’t wait for the rest of the series!

Did not finish
Reviewed: 12-12-23
Just could not finish the story. I found Noelle incredibly difficult to like. She is rude and a hypocrite. Jameson was a likable character and the friend seems wonderful, however the description of Noelle’s daughters makes me grateful I don’t have children. The voice actors did a good job. All in all, this wasn’t for me.

So good! It has everything. Action, spice, mystery, emotional development, humor. This NEEDS to be made into a TV show. If you are in the fence about purchasing this audiobook, do it. Now excuse me while I figure out how to get through this book hangover.

After I returned to my small hometown six months ago to attend my estranged grandmother's funeral, I swore I would never go back. That is, until my grandmother's lawyer calls me up. If I don't return to Harmony Island and fulfill my grandmother's stipulations, the generationally owned family inn will be turned over to the state and sold off to the highest bidder—my grandmother's rival and mother to the man who broke my heart, Missy Willis. I'm not sure I'm strong enough to return home, but I also know, I can't let Miss Willis win.

I just couldn’t finish it. The story seemed intriguing based off the Facebook ad but it really isn’t. It’s a slow start and didn’t pick up; though I was only able to make it to chapter 14 before calling it quits. Maybe I just like my male characters to have self confidence, or maybe it came off that way because it is a female narrating the main male lead’s perspective. (Usually there is nothing wrong with that.) If you are look for a captivating story, look elsewhere.

The story was ok. I don’t regret getting the audiobook but I won’t purchase anything else this author has written. It wasn’t bad, just not my cup of tea. Spoiler alert. If a guy spanked me I’d slap him; so when the female protagonists was ok with being “disciplined” I wanted to smack them both. Like I said, not my cup of tea.

Story
I have a glorious past full of achievement and renown. I mean, I feel like I must, right? The problem is, I can’t remember it. I can’t even remember my own name. I was found in a river, body mangled and face scarred, with nothing to identify me besides a single embroidered letter. My memory is a murky blur, but I have a quest, one that will give me back everything I’ve lost.

So good! The story is well written and there was enough adventure and romance in it to keep me entertained. G’s arrogance and lack of morals leads to quite a few laugh out loud moments. Based on the clues, is G Gaston from Beauty and the Beast? I’m definitely looking into what else this author has written. The narrator did a fantastic job as well.

It’s a good story. The end was slightly predictable but the story had some turns that weren’t expected. Fliss is funny and I found her likable. The next audiobook isn’t out at the time of this review but I ordered the ebook version. I look forward to see what happens next. Spoiler alert! The only thing that bothered me about the ending is them leaving the treasure hoard behind. I hope they retrieve it in one of the next books.
