The relevance of the 60s to what's happening today in politics, it's also a beautifully written and spoken love story.

Bravo to the author! An absorbing story by Doris Kearnes Goodwin, her life and history with her amazing husband, Dick Goodwin, capturing her own special story and how they intertwined. I will think about this period of time differently now, and the presidents involved.

Story
Benjamin Franklin is the founding father who winks at us - an ambitious urban entrepreneur who rose up the social ladder, from leather-aproned shopkeeper to dining with kings. In best-selling author Walter Isaacson's vivid and witty full-scale biography, we discover why Franklin turns to us from history's stage with eyes that twinkle from behind his new-fangled spectacles. In Benjamin Franklin, Isaacson shows how Franklin defines both his own time and ours. The most interesting thing that Franklin invented, and continually reinvented, was himself.

Story
On July 12th, 1776, Captain James Cook, already lionized as the greatest explorer in British history, set off on his third voyage in his ship the HMS Resolution. Two-and-a-half years later, on a beach on the island of Hawaii, Cook was killed in a conflict with native Hawaiians. How did Cook, who was unique among captains for his respect for Indigenous peoples and cultures, come to that fatal moment? Hampton Sides’ bravura account of Cook’s last journey both wrestles with Cook’s legacy and provides a thrilling narrative of the titanic efforts and continual danger that characterized exploration.

Beautifully written and read. Extensive research by the author contributes to this believable account what happened. One can only imagine what it must have been like aboard one of the ships and in all the conditions the sailors faced.

Story
By Winston Churchill's own admission, victory in the Second World War would have been "impossible without her". Until now, however, the only existing biography of Churchill's wife, Clementine, was written by her daughter. Sonia Purnell finally gives Clementine her due with a deeply researched account that tells her life story, revealing how she was instrumental in softening FDR's initial dislike of her husband and paving the way for Britain's close relationship with America.

Story
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

I was blown away by Harry's memoir, and cried repeatedly through it. Hard for me to understand how messed up the British media AND certain members of royalty treat him, and his wife (and of course others). Harry and Meghan, you are the real deal, true, compassionate and honorable. I'm glad you are here in America and I hope those damned paps LEAVE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ALONE!! Love and blessings, Jan.

Story
There’s a wedding on the horizon, and Georgia Carpenter couldn’t be happier. But that doesn’t mean she’s lost sight of everything that still needs to be done to get the Sea Glass Inn ready for opening. Not only is she preparing for that, but the magazine photoshoot is right around the corner, too. As is the town council election. Most people think Travis Taylor, the inn’s handsome handyman, is a shoo-in, but with Lavinia Major as his opponent, anything could happen. And probably will.

This story really does give us hope and faith that love and truth prevail. Good happens, and we don't have to expect the worst to come after a blessing. I love the writing and the details (especially for my detail-oriented brain)!
I just wish the author used better grammar but it seems almost everyone is confused by the use of pronouns such as "I" and "me" these days!
