What a great small series of post apocalyptic events.
The perspective of a Battle hardened Soldier has become one of my favorites, Dicks vices, hardened, straight shooting, woman & kid loving Character made him so realistic, so personable that I found myself having similar nightmares and my whole perspective on the opioid addicted changed. As well as a deeper respect for our Veterans. Certainly I’ve read books with battle fatigued Soldiers as the main characters, but never before have I felt so moved, maybe not moved, so in tune with Dick, like he’s been a friend I grew up with. I really can’t explain how much Dick feels real to me in my minds eye, Boyd Craven is excellent in this aspect, all his books I’ve read really really make the characters feel like they could be your neighbor, or you’ve known them your whole life.
The battle scenes are great, never to much Military jargon, but enough to keep you turning pages, & pages I did. This may have been my quickest series read & recommend to date !!!
What an excellent couple of books, thanks Mr Craven !
While I’ve read a good bit of your books, I’m off to find some I haven’t. Feeling pretty happy to be stuck on this author for awhile. Did I mention how real the lead (Dick/Mike) feels ?
Thanks again, look forward to many more GREAT Reads.
Best Regards,

I liked the reality feel, and while a lot of good people died there was a few that survived to tell the story

My first Jon Land read & WOW !
Maybe the first whole book read in a day also.
Narrator, Eric Cogner no doubt helped with that, as he’s absolutely, without doubt, my favorite narrator, some search for authors, I often search for books Cogner has narrated. What a terrific, thoughtful, scary to the point of possible book, WOW. It’s the most visually interpreted audible book thus far, so gripping and mind boggling vivid that I’m already ready for the next. Thank you Jon Land & Eric Cogner……

Great books, without the usual happy ending where everyone good lives and the Evil die, makes the story much more relevant !

Another Stella Book by S. Hamilton, there’s not nearly enough good reads that tell the story of the Good Bad Guy & his daily struggles to move forward in Corporate America.
Thank you Steve Hamilton,
Thank you for Nick Mason…
The better than average guy who finally gets noticed for some rare qualities that we should all be strong enough to have, A plan, A Goal, A set of rules, that are made by that individual, and then live to see them fulfilled.

I love it when the loot goes to the average Joe & doesn’t get lost or in custody.
Great narrator, it really does make a book more enjoyable with an exceptional narrative & narrator!

Parker comes thru again, only, No loot this time, where’d the second suitcase go ? Thought there were 2 & lost track of the 2nd one somewhere along the way.
Either way this one seemed to make it all the more realistic in someway, I assume because some times the thief gets robbed ! What goes around comes around !
Love the Parker Series, and the Narration from the Narrator.
Thanks for another great read !
