Story
Two-time Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner was the second-most-googled person in 2023—and not for his impressive filmography. His searing portrayals on film ranged from an Iraq-based army bomb technician in The Hurt Locker and a Boston bank robber in The Town to a crooked Camden mayor in American Hustle before he became heir to the Jason Bourne franchise (The Bourne Legacy). Amongst other iconic roles, he also captured hearts as fan-favorite comic book marksman Hawkeye in seven Marvel films.

Story
James Van Praagh is a spiritual medium - someone who is able to bridge the physical and spiritual worlds. Unaware of his spiritual gifts until he was in his 20s, he slowly came to terms with his unique abilities. In addition, many of his sessions with grieving people who came to him looking to contact the spirits of deceased loved ones are explored. From a devastated mother recieving a message of hope from her deceased little girl to communicating with a young man, killed in Vietnam, who doesn't realize he's dead, the theme of hope and peace in the afterlife is affirmed.

Thank you, Ms Cheney!

No matter your political affiliation, Liz Cheney’s accounting of the January 6 Insurrection rings with shock, truth, anger, dismay—all of it. She backs up her claims with facts and quotes from others. Her excellent command of language is heartbreakingly real, and she doesn’t cushion her remarks, even though it’s clear that she’d prefer the events she highlights weren’t real. Liz Cheney holds the honesty and principles of the Republican Party that my own father admired. I feel her pain and admire the courage she displays.

I swear to you. Immediately after I set aside my headphones, in a quiet room, I heard Gregorian chant and Italian opera—very softly for hours. I thought someone else at home was listening to music downstairs. While I can’t guarantee you’ll hear monks and Pavarotti once you complete your book, I can assure you that your consciousness will be primed to expand and your spirit will lift. The exercises are that compelling. Bravo, Mr. van Praague. Score another convert.

Story
If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed. On May 17, 2014, Admiral William H. McRaven addressed the graduating class of the University of Texas at Austin on their Commencement day. Taking inspiration from the university's slogan, "What starts here changes the world," he shared the ten principles he learned during Navy Seal training that helped him overcome challenges not only in his training and long Naval career, but also throughout his life; and he explained how anyone can use these basic lessons to change themselves - and the world - for the better.

Her parents are gone, the family bookstore is all but bankrupt, and her sister, Sophie, will probably never speak to her again. But when a mysterious letter arrives in her mailbox, Isabel feels herself drawn to the past. After years of fighting for her independence, she dreads the thought of going back to the island.

Hoffman also delivers an almost tangible sense of place. I could feel the town. I’m going to assume that the niece was supposed to be a brat, because she irritated me no end. But the sisters were likable and sympathetic. I could appreciate their mindsets and reactions.
