Great story
Reviewed: 09-18-23
Great story and narrators. I was concerned this might be a heavier listen because the female lead is dealing with such a huge loss. I was very pleasantly surprised that the author managed to keep it light without diminishing the issue. And I love that Sloane’s recovery was not solely because of the male lead. The return of Kristen and Josh brought much laughter and joy to this story. Love this author - great storyteller.

Story
Kristen Petersen doesn't do drama, will fight to the death for her friends, and has no room in her life for guys who just don't get her. She's also keeping a big secret: facing a medically necessary procedure that will make it impossible for her to have children. Planning her best friend's wedding is bittersweet for Kristen - especially when she meets the best man, Josh Copeland. He's funny, sexy, never offended by her mile-wide streak of sarcasm, and always one chicken enchilada ahead of her hangry. Even her dog, Stuntman Mike, adores him. The only catch: Josh wants a big family.

Story
Dr. Briana Ortiz’s life is seriously flatlining. Her divorce is just about finalized, her brother’s running out of time to find a kidney donor, and that promotion she wants? Oh, that’s probably going to the new man-doctor who’s already registering eighty-friggin’-seven on Briana’s “pain in my ass” scale. But just when all systems are set to hate, Dr. Jacob Maddox completely flips the game . . . by sending Briana a letter. And it’s a really good letter. Like the kind that proves that Jacob isn’t actually Satan.

This is now one of my absolutely favorite listens. I listened to this story in 1 day and smiled, laughed and remained in my feelings through the entire book. All the characters are so relatable and add to the story, but I loved everything about Jacob. The way the author wrote about anxiety was really so eye opening and spot on. Amazing story and characters from start to finish!

Story
It's instinct that drives Finn Malone to rescue a bunch of hard-battling honey badgers. The Siberian tiger-shifter just can't bear to see his fellow shifters harmed. But no way can Finn have a houseful of honey badgers when he also has two brothers with no patience. Things just go from bad to worse when the badgers rudely ejected from his home turn out to be the only ones who can help him solve a family tragedy. He's just not sure he can even get back into the badgers' good graces. Since badgers lack graces of any kind.

Meh, but still good
Reviewed: 09-12-21
The story was entertaining and fun, but the narrator performed differently. It’s the same narrator but she used a different inflection this time around - making it sound as though she was unsure. Compared to the way she performed the other books in the 2 series, her tone was superficial throughout most of this one. She even seemed to voice some of the old characters in this same, superficial, unsure tone.
The new characters were very interesting and I hope the author continues their stories.

Nick Belanger can't stop thinking about the single mother who lives next door. She's smart. She's funny. She's so beautiful he can't stare at her too long for fear his eyes will start to glow. But Kayla thinks he's just an ordinary guy who works in security. Finding out he instead is a powerful immortal warrior who hunts and slays psychotic vampires for a living may not go over well, particularly since she has a daughter she doesn't want to endanger.

This didn’t even feel like the same series. Nick’s characters wasn’t introduced enough in the previous books to feel like he’s part of their storyline. A few key characters showed up, but they didn’t feel the same either.

Story
Neecy Lawrence, winged warrior for a Viking goddess and second-in-command of the fierce Crows, doesn't know what to do with a nice guy. As it is, making up for a past she'd sooner forget leaves her barely polite most days. But Raven leader and loyal Odin warrior, Will Yager, isn't just nice. He's gorgeous, hot, and a distraction she simply can't afford. Yager has wanted Neecy in his life - and in his bed - for a long time. Not just for a night, but forever. And, like any self-respecting Viking, he'll stop at nothing to get her.

Great book, despite narration.
Reviewed: 12-06-16
The narrator was horrible, but the story was so enjoyable she didn't ruin the book. She wasn't consistent with the voices she chose for the characters so it was hard to tell who was speaking at times. In some instances it was bad, I couldn't tell if it was a male or female and had to rewind to figure out who had spoken. I really like this series and hope the original narrator returns for the next book; or, at the very least someone more consistent that doesn't read every character like they're doing a bad impression of Joe Piscopo.
