Witty banter
Reviewed: 04-11-23
Don’t expect a rollicking, laugh-out-loud production, but if you enjoy witty banter as only the British can do, you will enjoy the dialogue, the mystery, and the conclusion as it is all quite entertaining and satisfying.

The plot is fine for a cozy and it certainly meets all the criteria for a cozy. It’s just that the sentence structure and dialogue kept reminding me that I was listening to a middle school book. It’s very light listening for anyone at any age and there is little bit of excitement to provide interest.

"She doesn't remember a thing," Rolph snapped into the phone. Andrea froze. His back was turned away from her. He didn't know she was there, listening. "It's been six months, for God's sake. If you harm one hair on her head, I'll contact the authorities. My father would be disgraced, but that will not deter me." Now Andrea couldn't move.

I listen to about 25 audiobooks a month and this is the best book that I have listened to in a long time! It has lots of intrigue, a nice romance, a lot of action, and I can pretty much guarantee that you are going to want to stay up all night hearing the end of the book rather than sleeping! It’s that good! I can’t wait to read/ listen to more books by this author!

The year is 1920: Flying in the face of convention, legendary American adventuress Beryl Helliwell never fails to surprise and shock. The last thing her adoring public would expect is that she craves some peace and quiet. The humdrum hamlet of Walmsley Parva in the English countryside seems just the ticket. And, honestly, until America comes to its senses and repeals Prohibition, Beryl has no intention of returning stateside and subjecting herself to bathtub gin.

Fun cozy mystery

This is a fun little cozy mystery written post World War II and takes place in Britain. It is a story of friendship, war time repercussions and a bit of insight in to Britain’s wartime efforts but from a very light perspective. A very enjoyable read and I would be interested in further books if there is a series.

Great PI novel that completely held my interest. My only complaint was that in the need of realism, the F word was used fat more than I wanted to hear it. I thought the narrator did a very good job.

Lots of practical info
Reviewed: 07-31-18
This is almost a how-to-manual and is full of information and covers a broad area of topics. It’s a bit like a beginning business person’s getting started guide. So the good news is the broad range of information. If there is a downside, it is that you need to stop and work on the exercises, which is impractical if you are listening to this on the go. And listening to a website is not the same thing as clicking on it. However all of these are true of any book that you listen to and are minor compared to the amount of information that I gathered.
