Story
Quinn has no idea why a short trip to a small town turned into her moving there and buying an antique shop, but after five years of waiting, her answer walks right through the shop’s door. Leaving the big city, Abby Brennon, a best-selling author, moves back home after looking for the quiet calm that comes from living in a small town but also something else that she can’t quite describe even to herself. When she walks into the antique shop and sees Quinn Jordan, things start to make sense.

I loved this story. The characters are amazing.
I liked the narration by Trei Taylor.
This is a classic space sci fi book. It was a pleasure to watch the characters meet and develop through the course of the story. Enemies who have shot each other down fall in love while relying on each other to survive on a barely habitable moon.
I am always amazed by the worlds, universes that an author can make. Even more so when the author develops a credible religion and martial art practice. Virginia Black has done an excellent job of doing so.
I will try to follow the tenet of drawing a circle of influence, based on my current roles and reserves. And then do my best to handle all that circle encompasses.

Story
Winnifred "Win" McNulty has always been wildly independent. Not one to be coddled for her limb difference, Win has spent most of her life trying to prove that she can do it all on her own. And, with some minor adjustments, she's done just fine. That is until she has a one-night stand with the incredibly charming Bo, a perfect stranger. And that one night changes everything. While Bo is surprisingly elated to step up to the plate, Win finds herself unsure of whether she can handle this new challenge on her own or if she'll need a helping hand.

I love the beginning. Ultimate meet cute to one night stand. I appreciated the handling of Win’s kind difference. As a rehab doc, I would have appreciated more coverage of Bo’s adaptation to his amputation. The love story aspect was well done.

Age gap romance with the right amount of angst. Lots of cultural references pertinent to the 35 yo and 24 yo protagnists. A cast of colorful characters.
Sadie Provoat is a new audiobook artist and I enjoyed listening to her.

EJ Noyes has nailed another sapphic book category. This holiday romance is what I expect from one of her books. Real characters with gifts and baggage. Excellent dialogue. They tackle challenges from the past while merging German and American holiday traditions. Light enough but not saccharine. Abby Craden does a wonderful job as always.

Sasha represents so many of us with a secret goal, and a busy day to day existence. Her mother, Fleur is an amazing woman who successfully rehabbed from a lower extremity amputation after cancer surgery. Jak shares her success at directing movies with aspiring screenwriters by running an annual competition to make a movie out of an amateur's screenplay.
As usual, Andrea Bramhall writes a multilayered book with 3 dimensional characters, humor, pathos. Romance. The narration by Rachael Beresford was wonderful.
I loved the huge easter egg, of Angenla's prior book being the contest screenplay. The important issues of loss grief and death managed well,
I read everything that Andrea Bramhall writes. This one is as good as any of hers. Relistening now, to be able to categorize for my book challenge.

For the first time in depth and in public, Olympic soccer gold-medalist Christine Sinclair, the top international goal scorer of all time and one of Canada's greatest athletes, reflects on both her exhilarating successes and her heartbreaking failures. Playing the Long Game is a book of earned wisdom on the value of determination and team spirit, and on leadership that changed the landscape of women's sport.

I am a Michigander, and a USWNT fan. I appreciated the Canadian perspective on the growth of women's soccer over the past 20 years. I appreciated the narrator with the western Canadian pronunciations. Like so many others, I wish there were more details about her personal life. I applaud her for writing an interesting, readable book while fiercely guarding her privacy.

The lone wolf Snow has her hands full. She and the surviving Alphas of the Chicago werewolf packs have been on the run since barely escaping an ambush with their lives. Whoever attacked them not only murdered Alphas and Betas, but they've managed to kidnap most of the werewolf packs in the area. Riding herd on four Alphas, and trying to keep them from turning on each other, is not Snow's idea of fun.

Always believe the truth will persevere
Reviewed: 01-28-24
From start to finish the characters are developed to clearly provide a path of hope through the chapters. Always keeping an underlying sense of unfairness over whelping the reader but providing a nibble of hope to keep reading. The characters dealing with such unbelievable injustice keep doing the proper thing because of the morals and values embedded in them by family and mentors. Do not give up on those trying to find truth as the story circles up the wagons with friends, underdogs and even those in the barristers world. The final chapters are so reviting as you cheer the character to keep moving to the victory, I was unable to stop listening to the author's skill at spinning the characters toward the final truth and victory over lies and deciet.
