Story
H. E. Marshall’s classic children’s chronicle of Britain, Our Island Story, includes all the best-loved (and most infamous!) stories from history: King Alfred and the cakes, King John and the Magna Carta, Lord Nelson and the Battle of Trafalgar, Queen Elizabeth and the Spanish Armada, and many others. This recording contains the complete and unabridged text, released previously in separate volumes. It is read with aplomb by Anna Bentinck and Daniel Philpott.

Wonderfully Captivating Tale
Reviewed: 11-25-24
This story is a wonderful blend of mythology and history. The author shows the story of the British people and the way in which it has grown into the nation it is today. The tale is told in a captivating way, while still accurately retelling the history of Britain

Amazing book!

I absolutely loved this book. I found myself manufacturing things to do so I could listen to it. Dumas is a wonder story teller. He crafts character who feel real and situation that keep the reader on the edge of their seat with anticipation. The story is a wonderful picture of redemption from sin and evil of the human heart. My only complaint is that at 52 hours it was still too short.

Story
The complete unabridged audiobook of J.R.R Tolkien's The Silmarillion. The Silmarillion is an account of the Elder Days, of the First Age of Tolkien’s world. It is the ancient drama to which the characters in The Lord of the Rings look back, and in whose events some of them such as Elrond and Galadriel took part.

Amazing work of literature!

You can really see Tolkien’s own theology and philosophy in this work. It is a masterful epic, and through it one can see the truths of scripture retold. The reader did a fantastic job of conveying a sense of epic story telling.
