The story begins with an workaholic living on Redbull, booze, and smoking. She is the lead at her family owned construction business, but driving everyone mad with stay on point task master aditute. So her Sister and Father step in and send her off to Woman only land. Most of the Woman are over 60 many over 70 the leader is 75,Steala. Steala first tries Erin the workaholic with Rachel, 82, who knits and doesn't seasons her beans, the place has a strict no meat policy. Next was M------, who turns out to be the one woman for her after lots laughs and gigs and other events.

The beautiful woman hidden in there cargo by bad guys, and her AI. The book is a non stop riide. With many battles fault in space.

I first read this at age 13, and loved it. In College I bought my mother a copy. I am 58 years old with ME and need all my books read to me now. So, getting a copy of this special book that I have been reading and far-reaching since age 13 which has been several dog eat copies in my life now read to me so wonderfully means so much to me.

Only later do you discover this simple man who wants to say goodbye to his wife and daughter is also the president of the United States. And we are dropped not only into his simple needs but the political ebb and flow of Washington politicians.

I love Scalzi's writing but not this book

Aweful, why I wasted my time?

First off there are these spaceship who's engines are imprisoned Gods. That must be tortured in so AM Fantany way to get the ship's to move. Why? Who care? it's all a homo- erotic scene anyway since there isn't a woman in sight. I loved the scene near the end where the two main characters who seemed to hate each other, stop and kiss not once but there times. Saying I love you to each other, before the one does a John Hurt scene via Alien and has the Lord a peer, not to be confused with the Gods who power the ships.
