Story
Kitty Harris has it all: cosily coupled up with boyfriend Archie, she’s putting in the hours at an ad agency to land her dream job. OK, so maybe they’ve become a bit too comfortable in their routine, with pizza night every Thursday, and maybe the agency isn’t so much up-and-coming as been-and-gone, but Kitty is happy. Until one diamond ring sitting pretty in her pepperoni ruins everything. Kitty does NOT want to get married, not after being caught in the crosshairs of her parent’s destructive divorce.

Why vulgarity?
Reviewed: 07-12-23
I could not get beyond the beginning. I am puzzled why authors feel their work is more attractive if the f word or other vulgarity is included. it is my opinion that those who love vulgarity can enjoy something without it. however, those who are repulsed by vulgarity will not even partake.

Story
Dr. Faith Harper lays it all out: what anxiety is, what it's good for - that's right, it's actually a necessary response that helps to keep us alive in bad situations - how to know when it's gone overboard, and practical tips on how to deal with it when it gets bad. This book is a lifesaver for panic attacks, breaking out of flight-or-fight-or-freeze responses, and for chronic anxiety. It's also good for folks who aren't daily burdened by anxiety, but want to better cope with those tough situations that affect us all.

Story
The real stories behind the scenery of America’s national parks. For 12 years, Andrea Lankford lived in the biggest, most impressive national parks in the world, working a job she loved. She chaperoned baby sea turtles on their journey to sea. She pursued bad guys on her galloping patrol horse. She jumped into rescue helicopters bound for the heart of the Grand Canyon. She won arguments with bears. She slept with a few too many rattlesnakes. Hell yeah, it was the best job in the world! Fortunately, Andrea survived it.

Melodramatic
Reviewed: 05-28-22
The book contains a lot of interesting information about the challenges of National Park Rangers but also includes way too much melodrama and emotion-directed descriptions of injuries and challenges. I didn't care for the narrator's attempt to add drama to so many situations. Also, lots of crude and foul language.

I think most anyone will note a few habits in their conversations the author discussed that maybe should be adjusted inn or own lives. There was quite a bit of reference to communications at work but other than that I found some things I want to work on in my personal conversations. I found it not very entertaining but certainly worth my time.

Story
Greg Donahue’s The Minuteman, tells the story of one of Newark’s native sons; ex-prizefighter and longtime Zwillman enforcer Sidney Abramowitz, a.k.a. Nat Arno, who took over leadership of the Minutemen in 1934 and made it his personal business to put an end to what he saw as the Bund’s “anti-American” activities. For six years, Arno and his crew of vigilantes battled Newark’s Nazis at every turn. The Minuteman is a story of the ethics of violence in the face of fascism; a forgotten legacy that is as relevant now as it was nearly a hundred years ago.

Perhaps if I had finished it my opinion would be different but I went as far as I could. It is a story of a bunch of toughness - people and lawlessness. But then, I've never been impressed with fighting, organized or not.
