I enjoy this series, and the narrator is great. The stories are fairly comprehensive. You get a good picture of each crime and how it happened.

Story
In his book To Catch a Predator, Chris Hansen, the on-air correspondent for one of Dateline's most successful series, looks deeper into the world of child predators. The book expands beyond the Dateline series to include more commentary from psychological and criminal experts about the origins and methods of child predators, and includes substantive advice for both parents and children on how to protect kids who use the Internet.

I loved the writing and storytelling, and the voice actor was very good. This audiobook talks about men the show has caught, families of predators, people who try to help the cause, police detectives who investigate these crimes, and gives actionable advice to teens and parents on how to stay safe online. The storytelling is amazing, and transitions easily from one story to the next. I’m going to see if Chris Hansen has other audiobooks because this was so good!

Story
I order another bourbon, neat. This is the drink that will flip the switch. I don’t even know how I got here, to this place, to this point. Something is happening to me lately. I’m drinking too much. My sheets are soaking wet when I wake up from nightmares of decaying corpses. I order another drink and swig it, trying to forget about the latest case I can’t shake. Crime solving for me is more complex than the challenge of the hunt, or the process of piecing together a scientific puzzle. The thought of good people suffering drives me to the point of obsession.

I truly enjoyed this audiobook. I love that the author is the narrator - it really connects the listener to the story. I felt like I was there every painstaking moment of those 25 years, and I continually applauded his no-quit attitude. I will definitely look for more from Holes. Great story, well told, and wow, great job sticking with it. All of it.

For 25 years, John E. Douglas worked for the FBI, where had a brilliant and terrifying career getting inside the minds of notorious killers. Written with Mark Olshaker, Law and Disorder is Douglas’ most provocative and personal book yet. In it, he addresses every law enforcement professional’s worst nightmare: those cases where, for one reason or another, justice was delayed - or denied.

It’s just okay

Not my favorite true crime audiobook, but I finished it. When the narrator/author reads words such as “and, but, however, meantime” she puts extra emphasis on these words which distracts from the ideas she’s trying to convey. Also, the author uses the last name of the murderers except in the case of Jodi Arias. She refers to her as “Ms. Arias”. If Hansen didn’t deserve the respect of Mr. Hansen, then why would Arias? There was also some information on Keyes that differed from his story in American Predator. This was one of those audiobooks that when I missed something, I didn’t go back to listen again.

I wish Jim Dale could narrate my life as I go through each day. Such an amazing voice, filled with emotions, accents, and voices. Listening to these books was better than reading them myself. He brought all the characters to life in a way not even the movies could do.
