Story
Kim Fields has lived most of her life with people thinking they know her, which is understandable. From her first job on a Mrs. Butterworth syrup commercial at age seven, she has spent 40 years in the public eye. There were nine years as Dorothy "Tootie" Ramsey on the classic sitcom The Facts of Life, five more in her 20s starring as Regine Hunter on the seminal coming-of-age show Living Single, and most recently appearing as herself on Real Housewives of Atlanta and Dancing with the Stars.

This is certainly a window into Kim's decades with pure details. Her story is told excellently, & I her voice. This is another book where it seems like you're sitting having tea/coffee one on one with the author.

Story
Amber wakes up in a hospital. She can't move. She can't speak. She can't open her eyes. She can hear everyone around her, but they have no idea. Amber doesn't remember what happened, but she has a suspicion her husband had something to do with it. Alternating between her paralyzed present, the week before her accident, and a series of childhood diaries from 20 years ago, this brilliant psychological thriller asks: Is something really a lie if you believe it's the truth?

Story
On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

Story
In this brilliant book, Isabel Wilkerson gives us a masterful portrait of an unseen phenomenon in America as she explores, through an immersive, deeply researched narrative and stories about real people, how America today and throughout its history has been shaped by a hidden caste system, a rigid hierarchy of human rankings. Beautifully written, original, and revealing, Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents is an eye-opening story of people and history, and a reexamination of what lies under the surface of ordinary lives and of American life today.

So much to say, yet breathless at points. Known & unknown situations, clarity & top transparency. A book to must read, & a book to be glad when finished reading. But only if it's not just taken as a book/novel, but History, & a life we can acknowledge & do something about, of course still now to press in a unified, educated, equitable way. Caste. A review would take a novel. Discussions on this with all… priceless.

Magnificent! I'm ready to watch this on the big screen because it will make for an outstanding production. It was such a smooth moving story with timely transitions back and forth. Small towns, huge hearts, some things & people stay the same, while others are brave enough to change. No Overall, the pure joy & and meaningfulness of family and friends are priceless. Definitely some unexpected happenings. Besides from the sex on the third date thing, which just could have been left out, it's beautiful to see the tranquility of some relationships as they are established. & Don't forget about man’s best friend. + Asheboro, Hampton Inn, Walmart, & Bojangles! :D

Proverbs 31 Woman 101
Reviewed: 09-23-24
At one point, some of the ideas sound overwhelming, because it suggests you should be doing something nonstop all day & night every day & night, & at one point says even while attending to other things such as life, your husband, & children (if you have) you should still have your hands working on something. Although you have joy in what you're doing it seems less focus on just choosing something you actually enjoy as a hobby etc sometimes without having to worry about making money off of it. It does encourage time with friends, so I'm sure it's saying "to everything there is a season" & if there is a time you need to be continuously at work, you do it with pure joy. Overall this book is a great break down of the Proverbs 31 Woman, verse by verse & with mindful, impactful actions. Certainly a great read, & Reread.

It's been a while since something made my jaws drop. A few chapters in I was hoping this wouldn't be a lonnng read that I would end up not enjoying. Then, I was fully drawn into the story & characters which are precisely described. Highs & lows & a speechless, yet bold, tug to not have any regrets. Do & Say & Go & Love NOW. I don't want to give away too much. I really enjoyed this book & the story & message I'm sure will cross my mind for years to come.

Who would imagine being friends with Eve - the woman who’s been held responsible for the fall of humanity (and cramps) for thousands of years? Certainly not Sarah Jakes Roberts. That is, not until Sarah discovered she is more like Eve than she cares to admit. Everyone faces trials, and everyone will mess up. But failure should not be the focus. Your focus should not be on who you were but rather the pursuit of who you can become.

It was a time of limitless possibility, but it ended in a single instant when Jo returned home one night to find her best friend lying dead in a pool of blood on the living room floor. Now Jo has everything she's ever wanted. But when an old housemate settles in her small town, the fabric of Jo's life begins to unravel.

This book was FAR from what I expected & not one I would have chosen, but it's well written. I was uninterested more than half way through wanting it to be over & then my attention was grasped with the shocking reveal. It is Not a revelation of while she was gone & how she would grow & develop during that time as I thought it would be, but instead how she left one husband & life & was ready to leave again until... Even though the situations were different. A story of things & people not being what or whom they seem. A story of the need to share faults with someone else in order to recognize & forgive oneself.
