Story
In this brilliant book, Isabel Wilkerson gives us a masterful portrait of an unseen phenomenon in America as she explores, through an immersive, deeply researched narrative and stories about real people, how America today and throughout its history has been shaped by a hidden caste system, a rigid hierarchy of human rankings. Beautifully written, original, and revealing, Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents is an eye-opening story of people and history, and a reexamination of what lies under the surface of ordinary lives and of American life today.

Amazing Book! Must read in these times
Reviewed: 05-21-22
Wilkerson’s breakdown of the Caste System was explain like I’d never read before! I had so many AHA! moments. I could relate to so many of her experiences, as a Black woman who worked in law enforcement for 28 years and also traveled all over the world with my White husband who sees first had the same doors that open for him are slammed in my face. This book should be required reading for middle and high school students, but sadly I don’t think that will happen in my lifetime. I can only hope. . .

Story
Why are we the way we are? Who can we become? What stands in our way? In Dealing with the Devil, Tony Schwartz investigates these sweeping questions by fiercely reckoning with his own life choices, regrets, and aspirations. He confronts the shame that arose after he helped craft a persona for Donald Trump in The Art of the Deal that 30 years later aided in his election as president. He provides a window into understanding our complicated relationship with Trump, and the Trump in each of us.

Loved this book. I was reluctant to read any further books on Trump besides Mary Trump's book, but this one was included in my membership so I decided to give it a try. A lot of what Mary Trump wrote about Trump shows up here, like his relationships (or lack there of) with his children and his cheapness when it comes to money. But this book also offers Schwartz' path to redemption, which was a nice touch.

Story
I'm Evan Cook - billionaire tech entrepreneur and widower. Professionally, I've got it all. But since my wife died, my personal life has fallen apart. Remarrying seems like the obvious answer, so I place an ad. I'm not asking for much. The ideal woman only needs to be smart, organized, pretty, and helpful - both in and out of bed - without expecting romance. I never thought to look right in front of me, but it turns out that Nia Wright, my sexy, sassy assistant, just might be the perfect candidate.
