An insight into a library I thought I knew

I never knew that the St. Agnes branch of the NYPL had a resident caretaker at any point in its history, and how lucky are we that Sharon Washington, a very gifted storyteller, lived there with her family in the late 60's and early 70's.
Feeding the Dragon is not just about keeping the coal fired furnace fed, it alludes to other aspects of Washingtons life as a WOC growing up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and her attempt to fit into not only society but her own expectations.
Definitely a story worth hearing.

Excellent Performance

It was an excellent reading and performance. The distinguishing of characters was exceptional! I was a unique opportunity to have lived your youth with a library as a playground and tutor.
