Story
I’ve been swept off my feet before, and I’ve got the bruises to show just how badly that ended. I’m not about to fall at the feet of the next man - or alien - to cross my path. Especially not when he steals me away from home and wants to use me as his broodmare. Kloran is intense and sometimes scary. A prince of his people with a duty so deeply ingrained, it’s hard to see where it ends and he begins. But the glimpses of the man beneath the hardened warrior prince make me wonder if there’s something more between us.

avoid these boxes, narrators and author.

Struggled to get through one and a half books of the 3 book set. The voices of the characters were strained, decrepitly slow and were so monotone, that I found myself thinking of other things like grocery lists, the color of my chipped toenail polish and the over taxed middle class. It was like listening to an old farmer giving directions based on where someone "use-ta live". The writing was atrocious. The author dumbed down the characters and the entire story for reasons I cannot fathom. There was no imagination utilized. I've read the back of cereal boxes that were more interesting and better written.

Story
Nola Leary would have been content to stay in Kilcairy, Ireland, healing villagers at her family’s clinic with a mix of magic and modern medicine. But a series of ill-timed omens and a deathbed promise to her grandmother have sent her on a quest to Half-Moon Hollow, Kentucky, to secure her family’s magical potency for the next generation. Her supernatural task? To unearth four artifacts hidden by her grandfather before a rival magical family beats her to it. Complication One: The artifacts are lost somewhere in vampire Jane Jameson’s occult bookshop. Complication Two: Her new neighbor, Jed Trudeau, keeps turning up half-naked at the strangest times....

Story
Since the day Lord Dillon earned his spurs, rumors of his savagery on the battlefield have preceded him into every room, stilling tongues and sparking fear. Weary of battle, he wishes only to find a woman he can wed who will approach him not with fear but with the tenderness that has been absent from his life for so long. Yet only the wisewoman seems invariably at ease in his presence.

Story
Grad student and cocktail waitress Evelyn Merkholtz has plenty to deal with. Too much to deal with, actually. So when her runaway best friend calls with a mysterious and urgent request to join her in Scotland, she is secretly more than happy to drop everything and oblige. When she gets there, Evelyn discovers that she is faced with an ancient curse, an adorably hunky villager, and a super hot (but possibly murderous) Highland warrior from the 18th century.

I felt that the story mimicked another book I've read and narrator was terrible. I almost stopped listening because of the narrator.

The sound effects made this book most enjoyable. I wasn't simply read to, but a picture created and a story felt.
