Story
Because within ODIN there is General Operations, which speaks for itself; ODIN 5i, which deals with intelligence gathering, and then there is ODIN 1i which deals in operations so sensitive not even the CIA can touch them. All three are run with an iron first by The Chief, a giant with a gigantic IQ. His top agent is Alex Mason, hard and cool – he's a law unto himself.

Disappointing. Did not enjoy it
Reviewed: 03-12-25
Story line was weak.
Rather than being a spy story was mainly political statements.
According to writer every policeman in Middle East is stupid and rapist.
Hero of the story flies a helicopter from one country to another without being detected.
Story was more like a fantasy book for teenagers.

Two young women are missing, their only connection being that they attended the same party, hosted by a notorious businessman. When one of the women is found murdered, the police discover an unusual signature left by the killer, giving them reason to suspect he will strike again. And catching him calls for a detective like no other. But the legendary Harry Hole is gone. Struck off the force, down and out in Los Angeles, it seems that nothing can entice him back to Oslo. Until the woman who saved Harry's life is put in grave danger, and he is forced to join the hunt for the murderer.

The plot was not as strong as previous Harry Hole books.
the usual genius detective work was missing.
Rather than legendary detective uncovering the truth the killer kind of confesses everything.
The performance was not as good as John Lee's performance on other Jo Nesbo books

The most interesting thing about this book was that Harry Hole although being a brilliant detective, wasn't portrayed as a flawless, superman like character.
The narrator was brilliant. It made the book more interesting and John Lee is masterful narrator
