I can listen to her stories all day! I wish she’d write more of them! Hearing her voice is a plus and a must! I love her podcasts as well

I didn’t want this story to end! I loved how this audio book read like her podcast voice. Dawson is just the best and she dives into history and we are there every step

I could listen to early 90’s 2000’s California stories FOREVER!! This Margaret Cho episode was just heavenly. Karen and Margaret’s stories were so awesome . Reminiscing etc. Chris talks about living with Tig and that got me in that “I need more stories here”!! Mode

I prefer Audiobooks and this book did not disappoint. M.R was a perfect narrator. His memoir was a perfect blend of “in your face facts and personal emot

Although this story was a trigger , sometimes triggers are necessary. To remember and to move forward. I wish the best life for this woman

I’m so obsessed! These women are on point with their storytelling and just the right amount of humor. I could hear their banter forever. Georgia sounds like me and my sister! Love it! Kate’s memories in California and that youth time slot we both share gives me such nostalgic hug

I loved their podcast sooo much and wanted more of these women! I thought this was going to be a “how to” stay safe book sprinkled with that awesome comedic wit that Karen and Georgia overflow with abundance. It was so much more than that. I related so much with this book. They talk like me, my age, from California like I was when I was young. I laughed and I cried. I even bought the hardcover too! I wish only the best and continued success for these women! A must read/listen for sure!

I loved this story! I’m 45 and could listen again easily! Maybe it’s having ancestors come through Ellis Island.

Oh my lord! I felt like Viola was pushing on my chest with all her memories, her words. So deeply painful, honest, eye opening. I found myself saying allowed “yep” many times. Gasping out-loud when her sister was being chased by the man who was all accounts crazy. Loving her Mother and her imitation of her. What a powerful book.

I hope the author lives her best life now. So many terrible things that happened to her. She asks throughout if the reader blames her for her mistakes. I found myself saying aloud
“NEVER”! It was so terrible what happened to her and could 100% see this happening to anyone! Me
