Story
What would life be like for a Black boy growing up in Nazi Germany? This unprecedented autobiography answers that question with the spellbinding true story of Hans J. Massaquoi’s life in Hamburg during the height of Hitler’s regime. Hans is the son of a Black Liberian diplomat father and a white German mother. His father returns to Africa at the beginning of the war, leaving them behind in poverty without the means to flee. Within this tense atmosphere, increasingly violent Nazi policies and Allied bombing raids make Hans and his mother’s lives a day-to-day survival struggle.

Would you listen to Destined to Witness again? Why?
It was a good movie and I would watch the movie again. Although the movie is somewhat abridged. This is no fault of the movie maker. When you have a time budget of three hours for making a movie you got to decide what is included and what is left out.
What did you like best about this story?
This audiobook reminds me of a 2-part, 3-hour movie called Neger, Neger, Schornsteinfeger which means Negro, Negro Chimney Sweeper. You can find it on the youtube.com website. It is all in German with very limited subtitles like three percent of the movie. I loved it. The whole story line follows the same narrative as the movie.
Have you listened to any of Peter Jay Fernandez’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
The narrator of this movie speaks very clearly. I would be glad to listen to more of this man's narrations.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This is a good audiobook
Any additional comments?
This movie expresses the limited roles that a negro could do as a job. Jobs were limited to entertainment like boxing and playing the part of an African tribe at a zoo. I've heard of some blacks in other stories that worked in itinerant circuses travelling around the country of Germany.

Is there anything you would change about this book?
I like the integrated music. Since a link to the pdf booklet is missing I cannot recommend this course very highly.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
The narrators speak very clearly.
Did The Accelerated Learning German System inspire you to do anything?
There are deficient materials. Where is the pdf?
Any additional comments?
If I had bought this course before Nightingale Conant contracted with Audible I would of received a booklet of translated German. In addition to 12 CD's. Where is the link for the pdf file for this course?

What did you love best about The Law of Large Numbers?
I think this book shows suggestions on how to be more efficient with your own abilities. You can be very good at a job up to your aptitudes. For instance I average 42 to 45 words a minute in typing.
What did you like best about this story?
The narrator of the story is a teacher. There is only so much that even the fast can do. I think that Dr. Gary Goodman used the features and power of the internet by teaching many people. This is done through digital recordings.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
You can be more than you already are
Any additional comments?
I like the idea of making money with multiple streams of income. There is also ideas on how to make money with royalties and commissions.

Where does A Boy Toy for Christmas rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I would rank A Boy Toy for Christmas as a three. I think a higher voiced male narrator would of given some credence to the main character. The narrator of the story sounded like a very old man instead of some young man who wanted a boy friend who just turned 18.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I would recommend this book to a friend. I love the way Jane Pauley is chatty in her delivery of stories. There are 29 chapters to this book and 6 hours 50 minutes of recordings.
What other book might you compare Your Life Calling to and why?
Go Solo by Kelsey Humphrey's is a fun listening. Life Reimagined discover your new life possibilities by Richard J. Leider has interesting success stories.
What does Jane Pauley bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The delivery of her stories is like spending an evening with Jane Pauley like having dinner with the lady or spending an evening at her house or apartment. It is relaxed and chatty.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Develop your own stories of success by reimagining your life.

I loved the episode
Reviewed: 05-05-15
Where does A Stop at Willoughby rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This reminds me of that TV episode A Stop at Willoughby episode 30 season 1, 1959. This is kind of an altered elaboration of that story.
What was one of the most memorable moments of A Stop at Willoughby?
I did like the way where Gart Williams finally meant the two fisherman boys. I love the way the episode was written. I think if I were an aspiring writer I would add to the elaboration by having the man become a friend to the boys. After all this is a dream world not reality. I think I would write an unpublished rewrite that I would enjoy reading again and again.
What does Stacy Keach and Chelcie Ross bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I like the elaborated version. I can understand the story line since there had to be a hint of a heterosexual relationship in the script. My rewrite would be to make it a gay relationship with the boys. After all, if you are going to die anyway and are gay you might as well have something to look forward to once your body dies. Even if it is a myth you might as well have a comforting myth to look forward to.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
In the shorty story kindle version the man meant the two fisherman boys and talked about fishing. I think that I would do a rewrite of a developing gay relationship where the man finally becomes a boy all over again.and is happy with the two fisherman boys.
Just listen to Young Man's Fancy Another Twilight Zone TV episode. There are no homosexual themes in that story but a man finally becomes a boy again and escapes into the past where he has a permanent, dependent relationship with his mother and escapes the commitment of a marriage. Also he can live life as a boy with all the effects that he enjoyed. Like children's books and games.
Any additional comments?
I think that this story is comforting in that a person can imagine escaping any and all medical problems. This review may offend some people since I am gay but I can write the kind of story that I would want to live when I actually die.

Story line could be better.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I think the person who is insecure about his own sexuality might enjoy it more. I don't like the way the main character Scott thought of himself as just a mindless pet. I think the homosexual relationship could be upgraded to one of mutual service. And that means more than just what happens behind closed doors. That is like five percent of gay life. I am talking housekeeping; getting an education; making an income. All the other necessary things that allow people to live.
What was most disappointing about K.C. Wells and Parker Williams ’s story?
I don't like the presumption that Scott just thought of himself as a mindless slave. What about if his partner dies. In real life that happens to everyone gay or straight. You got to deal with life should you outlive your partner.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Nick J. Russo?
I think that would be one big maybe. I did enjoy the British accent. That kind of added authenticity to the narration.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I think the redeeming quality is Scott found a life in Manchester, England. It is kind of like a permanent OZ over the rainbow story with a gay theme.

Story
Women rich and poor come to her, desperate and in dire need of help – and discretion. Dolly Merishaw is a midwife and an abortionist in Victorian Toronto, but although she keeps quiet about her clients’ condition, her contempt for them and her greed leaves every one of them resentful and angry. So it comes as no surprise to Detective William Murdoch when this malicious woman is murdered. What is a shock, though, is that a week later a young boy is found dead in Dolly’s squalid kitchen.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I could not elaborate with the headline, but I will do so with the review. I would definitely recommend this audiobook to a friend. This audiobook has been especially good when I have done housework or at my job polishing the brass on those ten foot doors. Nothing takes the place of reading. But if you are preoccupied with other activities you can always listen, and work.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the overall reading tempo of the book. The reader could express many characters and accents.
What does David Marantz bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
David Marantz brings strong character development. You can always get an idea of a characters weaknesses and strengths.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I was sad that one little boy called George was killed in the book
Any additional comments?
I love the audiobook as well as the seven season TV show made in Canada. If you love audiobooks, thenbuy and 64 gigabyte HDX fire with an 8.9 inch screen. I have used up over 20 gigabytes of memory space with 200 audiobooks in my library on the device.
