Lackluster story with great ending

I wasn't impressed with most of the story. How can something so short seem to drag on for so long? However, the ending was well done. The rest should have been abbreviated.

A PIECE OF YESTERDAY

Love this one. First Twilight Zone I saw....then watched them all.

NARRATOR SHOULD BE ROD SERLING. IT IS HIS.

I loved the episode

Where does A Stop at Willoughby rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This reminds me of that TV episode A Stop at Willoughby episode 30 season 1, 1959. This is kind of an altered elaboration of that story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Stop at Willoughby?

I did like the way where Gart Williams finally meant the two fisherman boys. I love the way the episode was written. I think if I were an aspiring writer I would add to the elaboration by having the man become a friend to the boys. After all this is a dream world not reality. I think I would write an unpublished rewrite that I would enjoy reading again and again.

What does Stacy Keach and Chelcie Ross bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I like the elaborated version. I can understand the story line since there had to be a hint of a heterosexual relationship in the script. My rewrite would be to make it a gay relationship with the boys. After all, if you are going to die anyway and are gay you might as well have something to look forward to once your body dies. Even if it is a myth you might as well have a comforting myth to look forward to.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

In the shorty story kindle version the man meant the two fisherman boys and talked about fishing. I think that I would do a rewrite of a developing gay relationship where the man finally becomes a boy all over again.and is happy with the two fisherman boys.
Just listen to Young Man's Fancy Another Twilight Zone TV episode. There are no homosexual themes in that story but a man finally becomes a boy again and escapes into the past where he has a permanent, dependent relationship with his mother and escapes the commitment of a marriage. Also he can live life as a boy with all the effects that he enjoyed. Like children's books and games.

Any additional comments?

I think that this story is comforting in that a person can imagine escaping any and all medical problems. This review may offend some people since I am gay but I can write the kind of story that I would want to live when I actually die.

Slow, but not at all boring. Great ending.

A pleasant surprise. Story, sound effects, acting are all top notch. But what makes this a great listen is the ending. Recommended.
