Story
Imagine if you made one little mistake when you were young and were punished for it for the rest of your life. Well, that’s what happened to Lydia (yes, that Lydia, the youngest Bennet sister from Pride and Prejudice), and she’s here to set the record straight. Hold on to your teacups and get ready for sophisticated (and a little bit naughty) hot takes and witty banter that’ll make you laugh—and think. We meet Lydia just as she is denounced by her family, exiled miles from home, and married to the rogue George Wickham, who seems to love all women...except his own wife.

Fabulous!

I loved every aspect of this most refreshingly written&performed book! The characters wonderful! Having attention grabbed immediately,it remained a live!y,lovely example of turning the prejudices common to that era around, showing out of the truly cruel way lives were broken by malicious talk in a class that frowned upon behavior was behind many respectable doors, causing a rampant fear&judgement against those caught in its web! The humour used in this telling was very successfully used as tool to move to gotta love this girl & even Wickham, who had He no feelings for Lydia wouldn't have tolerated her dragging him home regularly! My 1 wish is that it was told fully as unfolded giving more opportunity for scandalous, funny epilogue in the situations that brought the story to life! I would've loved an epilogue of little Wickhams being raised by their untraditional, TRADITIONAL, parents! This is one I will keep downloaded for a listen on days feel down! The actors brought life to their characters with such amazing lilts&excellent timing! TOTALLY LOVE IT....

Story
It’s November in Sinful, and everyone is gearing up for Thanksgiving. But when Fortune, Ida Belle, and Gertie bag a body on their turkey-hunting trip, the quiet enjoyment of fall is over. No one really knew Miles Broussard well, and as he’d recently sold the building his business was in to retire in another state, no one could explain how he’d ended up murdered and dumped in the bayou.

Story
1876. In the glittering world of Manhattan's upper crust, women are valued by their pedigree, dowry, and, most importantly, connections. They have few rights and even less independence - what they do have is society. The more celebrated the hostess, the more powerful the woman. And none is more powerful than Caroline Astor - the Mrs. Astor.

Wonderful listen. I let 1 negative review nearly v keep me from reading this most enjoyed book! I love anything about that period in time, but most especially the 2 women vying for #1spot in New York Society! The reader's voice was a soothing tone&having gotten some really mono tone readers through the year, she was a blessing to fall asleep to! Thank you for such a great read, for me,in all ways!

Story
It was Charlie who chose Lily from among all the cats in the shelter. He didn't frown, the way other humans did, when he saw her injured back leg, the legacy of a cruel previous owner. Instead, Charlie insisted on rescuing her. Now Lily wants to do the same for Charlie. She's the only one who's seen the bruises on Charlie's body. If she knew who was hurting him, she'd scratch their eyes out. But she can't fix this by herself. Lily needs to get the rest of the family to focus on Charlie - not easy when they're wrapped up in their own problems.

This book was hard to start&stay with initially, but the reading was very soothing, so for the first few chapters I let it play as I fell asleep, using timer. When I 'woke up'@a change in direction from what I'd expected,it rapidly became Very difficult to limit myself to an hour each night!Being told from the viewpoint of a cat was a very effective way to hear ALL sides of the characters,&I think made the book! I very much did not want it to end when it did. I'm hopeful to find another book with story told same way. If not for slow start I'd give book 5 stars, but because of slow for me to get into,I nearly gave up on reading it,&that would've been a great loss for me!!
