Interesting Book on the "Victorian Age"

Stephen Fry shows us around the Victorian Age in ways our history books never told us about. The sexual attitudes and practices include including reading from sex manuals and novels of the age (including one by Colonel Spanker). Very interesting history and light entertainment you can enjoy. My only problem with it was when some of the readings of the age are accompanied by an annoying plinky plink piano music that reminds one of a six year olds piano recital. Overall a fun diversion!

The episodes of all three collections of this series are humorous and in some cases, sidesplitting funny! It does not matter whether you are British, the humor comes across well. The "Dog Song" about having an old and decrepit dog has had everyone who has heard it laughing out loud. The sketch where a woman talks to two of her male friends about her new beau who they both know and one of the guys says: "And he's not violent at all" has the greatest payoff line I have heard in years. Great Radio Comedy!!

A hidden little gem that reflects on modern dating in the internet age. His stories are priceless in their honesty and pathos with good points made about how one puts themselves out on display. Having over 100 internet dates is his hook and maybe he doesn't have the gal but lots of good stories and lots of lessons learned!

This goes into great detail on the battles in the boardroom between the Disneys (and the creative folks in the company) and Eisner along with his battles with others. It is a great character study showing how he help the top spot for nearly 20 years by pitting people against each other and using a management style that can only be described as "megla-maniacal". Great detail into the split between Disney and Pixar showing how Eisner created it and never thought about the future farther than his next bonus package. Very detailed and might go on longer than some like but I thought this book just sped by.

Very Funny stories on his growing up based on what home Adam was living in at the time. Each chapter begins with the house location, purchase price, square footage, bedrooms, and baths. The chapter dealing with his (mis) adventures in Tijuana uses this also (50,000 bedrooms, 1 bathroom). His description of a really bad Christmas tree at one home (so pathetic that Charlie Brown came by to make fun of it) is a classic I'll always remember and borrow from him.

His style is PERFECT! Reading in parts but stopping to expound on points and give more details, this book feels like you are sitting in a bar with Adam having a drink and swapping stories of growing up. After a series of stories about his friend Ray and their adventures, Ray visits the studio and Adam calls him in and they talk about their friendship and the stories Adam had just told.

I had really enjoyed his previous book (In fifty years we'll all be chicks) and was not disappointed. I look forward to his next book!
