Story
When a ghost ship is discovered, its crew presumed dead after trying to reach the storm-shrouded island Akina, Navani Kholin must send an expedition to make sure the island hasn't fallen into enemy hands. Knights Radiant who fly too near find their Stormlight suddenly drained, so the voyage must be by sea. Shipowner Rysn Ftori lost the use of her legs but gained the companionship of Chiri-Chiri, a Stormlight-ingesting winged larkin, a species once thought extinct. Now Rysn's pet is ill, and any hope for Chiri-Chiri’s recovery can be found only at the ancestral home of the larkin.

Story
Traditionally, Americans learned in school that the ancestors of the people who inhabited the Western Hemisphere at the time of Columbus' landing had crossed the Bering Strait 12,000 years ago; existed mainly in small nomadic bands; and lived so lightly on the land that the Americas were, for all practical purposes, still a vast wilderness. But as Charles C. Mann now makes clear, archaeologists and anthropologists have spent the last 30 years proving these and many other long-held assumptions wrong.

Great story, hard to follow at times

I really enjoyed the story but narrator was hard to follow at times. It was enlightening to hear that the Americas were actually much more populated and advanced than we are taught in American schools. It gives me much appreciation and respect for all the lives lived out in this great land we call home.

Story
Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

Amazing story and decent narration

I'm so glad I had a long drive to listen to this finally. I'd sat on the book too long and heard from others how great it was but found it hard to make it past page 40 with all the new words and storylines without falling asleep! The narrators did an amazing job annunciating all the vocab for me correctly and kept the story interesting throughout the whole 20+ hours. Yes the characters voice did change sometimes to a voice actor or a voice made by the narrator. It wasn't overly distracting though and it was easy enough to pick up on. Excellent listen! Highly recommend.
