Story
When mystery author D. B. Ziegler is late delivering her book, Abi Schore steps in to help. Surely she can give her favorite author moral support over the holiday break and get the manuscript to her boss at Tea & Sympathy Publishing in time for the new year. When Abi shows up on Ms. Ziegler’s doorstep bearing holiday treats, she’s met by the author’s handsome grandson Dov, who reveals a startling plot twist. His grandmother isn’t able to finish the book and Dov promised he’d complete it so fans won’t be disappointed—a task that’s harder than he ever imagined.

Fun Holiday Romance!
Reviewed: 03-21-25
I really love LM’s Holiday Romance Collection! These sweet, funny, contemporary romances are all set in NYC. Booked for the Holidays centers around Dov, the grandson of a popular cozy mystery author who’s latest book is late to the publisher, and Abi, the publisher’s employee sent to encourage the author to finish her latest book. Dov and Abi end up working together throughout Hanukkah to make sure the book is completed, and as they do love blooms. Truly fun and with great narration!

The world loves Maverick Houston. Me? I’ve hated him since we were ten. It’s not exactly easy to escape your childhood nemesis when your parents are best friends who live on the same block. Through countless vacations, parties and holidays, Maverick and I have spent the past decade trading insults. Until that family dinner when his mother tells us she’s dying. When she asks us to forget the past and start fresh. That’s how I found myself on a date with the Treasure State Wildcats football star. The campus playboy.

Great enemies-to-lovers, fake dating, sports trope! A lot of feels in Merit, but DP writes the hard topics in such a way that’s sensitive to readers…but tears were shed. DP is the queen of epilogues, and that’s something I really enjoy. Narration was strong! Highly recommend!

Story
The last place Sophia Lancaster wanted to return to was Poplar Falls. It's the place that holds all the painful memories and unanswered questions she's ever had. One phone call causes her life to take a turn, forcing her back to the town she hasn't stepped foot in over 20 years. And right into the path of Braxton Young. His blue eyes, sinful smile, and rough exterior are no match for Sophia. She's there for one reason, and it isn't to fall in love. The sooner she can get out of this small town and back in New York City - the better.

This is my first read by Amber Kelly, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Well-developed characters, especially the h, and an enemies-to-lovers trope that isn’t overly angsty. I recommend, and I’m looking forward to the next in the series!

I’d always dreamed of my wedding day. But not like this. Not looking into the eyes of the man who betrayed me. But when my nephew’s guardianship is contested, I decide I’ll do whatever it takes to keep him in Rose Hill. Even if it means marrying the enemy. Rhys Dupris. A man who is secretive, broody, and completely infuriating. A man whose work takes him away for weeks on end and brings him back covered in mysterious bruises—ones he won’t talk about. In fact, we barely talk at all.

I’ve come to really love Elsie Silvers’ books. Wild Side, the third in the Rose Hill series, is fabulous! Such a unique take on enemies-to-lovers, with an unexpected career that added interest and depth to the H. Silvers characters are well-developed, and she crafted the story to keep me engaged from the very beginning.
Narrators were excellent. I was able to be totally lost in the story!

It’s Valentine’s Day weekend, and Charlotte and Seth are not looking for romance. Armed with emotional-support bear spray, Charlotte is in self-imposed isolation and on guard from men. Having a stalker can do that to a person’s nerves. Just across the hall and giving off woodsy vibes is Seth, a recently divorced arborist. As in today recently. Heights, he’s fine with. Trust? Not so much.

Great short story!
Reviewed: 03-02-25
It’s tough for a short story to have depth…but, if anyone can it’s AJ! This was such a fun read…encouraging, sensitive to the issues included, and still light-hearted with the feels I love in a good romance! Such an amazing meet cute…it truly set the stage for the rest of the story!
AJ’s books always include real life issues that can be tough, and even though a couple have been about issues that have affected my life, I’ve never found them triggering. Her writing is always so well-constructed and beautiful. The Fall Risk is no exception!
Vocal performances were truly stellar…you can’t beat the Julia Whelan and Connor Crais! I highly recommend The Fall Risk!

Fabulous Series!
Reviewed: 02-20-25
This is the second series I’ve read by DGS, and she’s quickly become one of my favorite authors. Typically, I read cozy mysteries and romance. Curtain Call is more intense than my regular reads, but not to the point I couldn’t handle it. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat, especially toward the end of the book. Characters were well-developed and experienced. I believe one could read Curtain Call as a stand-alone, but aspects within each book of the series are resolved in subsequent titles and greatly increased my overall satisfaction!
In both DGS series I’ve read, the romance and spice gave the novels a sense of verisimilitude that can be lacking in many cozy mysteries. It was refreshing to read adults behaving as adults.
Narration was excellent! I highly recommend Curtain Call and the entire Magnolia Steele series!

This is the second title in the series and I’m really enjoying the series so far! Surprises and interesting primary and secondary characters make for a good mystery.
I really enjoyed having the protagonist in first person pov, but still having an omniscient 3rd person for certain chapters that detailed the storyline outside of the protagonist’s knowledge. Really enjoyed the canine search and rescue aspect, as well. Great narration!

Imagine the guy you’ve always wanted just whispered that in your ear. That you have one night to see what you’ve been missing. I’ve had a crush on Emmett Ward for as long as I can remember. And not just because he looks like a Greek god and has the audacity to walk around like he could break your headboard given the chance.

Love Emmett and Adeline!
Reviewed: 10-01-24
I’ve read and reread Sorensen’s Washington Wolves set of series from The Bombshell Effect to The Wilder Family. If you’ve not read all, I believe you’ll love The Crush even more if you at least read The Marriage Effect beforehand.
I loved Emmett and Adeline’s story! They played the long game, and the pay off was fantastic! Emmett is the BEST book boyfriend…so focused on what he wants in all the ways that mean the most. I adored how Emmett wasn’t hung up on material things, and his gifts to Adeline showed he knew her and loved her as she was. The chemistry between the couple was hot, and the sweet moments provided a beautiful balance.
Vocal performances were outstanding! I highly recommend The Crush (and all of Sorensen’s work)!

Pregnant. Homeless. Broke. Not what I’d expected for my senior year in college. Neither was Rush Ramsey. We met the day I went camping and got stranded on the side of a gravel road. I didn’t believe in white knights who freed damsels in distress. Life had taught me that if something bad could happen, it probably would. The only person who would save me was me. But Rush Ramsey rescued me that day. He was sweet and kind and charming. He made a dark, starry night a little less lonely.
