Great balance of supernatural and reality

SAR dogs work depicted very well and realistically. Different dogs, their characters and their relationships to each other and to humans and situations so well developed and described. Dogs are real characters in this story and I love it!
The story is interesting and suspensful. I listened to all three books in this series one after another in a matter of a week. I would keep listening to the fourth and fifth if they were there.
I truly recommend to anyone who loves dogs, well written female characters, a bit of mystery, and interested in SAR.

Great story love the southern accent of the main character Jaime. I plan to read more if these books they keep you on edge

There were a couple of tiny holes in the story, but it all tidied up in the end. Plot keeps you listening on the edge of your seat. Really enjoying this series!

This was better than the first book in the series. Jamie's abilities fit into the story better and made more sense. I liked the search dogs being different breeds and trained for what they do. Mild romance, good action and small twist at the end. Good characters and plot.

Really enjoyed the story. Love the great storywriting with thrills. Especially love the interaction with the dogs and the other senses that humans possess if they know how to reach them.

Great story line and was a nice tie in to book one. can't wait to start book 3. the narrator is excellent. makes a huge difference.

I like this series overall. This book in particular featuring multiple strong women characters. I like the detail that goes into the dog training and dog working. The unfolding of Jaime's back story is well done. The romance is very light which is ok with me but there would be a little more to work with in that front if the author chose to. There have been some very implausible things in the story that shouldn't be though. Spoiler alert stop reading now if you dont want any details..
First the woo woo is interesting and I enjoy it. The parts that should not be implausible are the procedures. A professional search dog handler would not leave her dog on the bank of a river and jump in to pull out a body. There are multiple examples of situations Jaime should NOT have been part of and it gives me the groans every time I read one of them. I'm the last book her son gets kidnapped, and in the real world that would be the end of her involvement in a search situation so would a gunman on the loose in the woods. And that was in both stories. In this book she even touches on it as the author, justifying why Jaime would be allowed to keep searching when only law enforcement should be allowed. That wasnt really plausible either. I want to LOVE this series. But I just can't. I want more from it. I like it, I just can't LOVE it. Narrator does a pretty good job switching voices. I will likely get the next book and see where it goes. 4 stars

Listen with friends and drink every time you hear the word regardless. You will all be plastered by the third chapter. Regardless, it is a decent story and worth the listen. The narrator needs to visit the south so she will realize the difference between a drawl and a country hick.
