Story
David Cruz is good at two things: war and training dogs. The ex-soldier's toughest case is Atlas, a Belgian Malinois whose handler died in combat. Nobody at Hope's Crossing kennel can break through the animal's grief. That is, until dog whisperer Evelyn Jones walks into the facility...and into Atlas' heart. David hates to admit that the curvy blonde's mesmerizing effect isn't limited to canines. But when Lyn's work with Atlas puts her in danger, David will do anything to protect her.

Story
With a famous NHL player for a stepbrother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation of many a hockey star. So of course she isn't interested in legendary team captain Alex Waters or his pretty, beat-up face and rock-hard six-pack abs. But when Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet's misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes much more than just a hot body with the face to match.

I agree the male voice actor was bad
Reviewed: 08-13-17
I enjoyed the performance of the female voice actor but when it was time for the guy - UGH. Seriously. I could have gotten over that if the story was better. I love sports romances. This was very shallow. Much talk about the MC - I'm not a prude but I prefers at least a little substance to a relationship. I found myself not caring about the story and fast forwarded through Nathan Everett's parts. I'd suggest saving your money/credit. I don't often post negative reviews but felt I should warn fellow listeners.

Uninhibited. Sarcastic. Confident. Beautiful. With a thriving photography career that allows her to travel all over the world and capture the hottest of men behind her camera lens, Cassie Phillips is the woman who can't be tamed. Adrenaline junkie. Jokester. Billionaire. Hot as sin. At six-foot-five, with muscles for days and that perfect, playful smile, Thatcher Kelly is the kind of man you don't want to deny. Wild for wild. Prank for prank. The two most unlikely of people may be the only ones to see that some personality traits only run skin deep.

I enjoy almost every type of romance. This one was just vulgar. I don't mind some foul language but most was a profanity. I don't even mind that if there is a good story running through the book. I actually fast forwarded through most of the book and felt compelled to warn my fellow listeners to not get the book.

Although I liked the male narrator I found myself skipping chapters as I felt the story was about twice as long as it needed to be. The female narrator had me turning the volume down. Wish I would have loved it because the other stories sounded interesting. I fear I'd skip chapters on those too.

Maggie Fitzgerald had retreated from her fast-paced life, seeking solitude to heal her tattered heart. But if landscaper Cliff Delaney's rude manner and irresistible sexuality weren't disturbing enough, now an old murder shattered her peace entirely, imperiling her life and forcing her right into the protective arms of the most irritating man alive! Delaney's night moves were enough to make even the saddest woman smile...but were they also those of a killer?

Story
With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends. Ireland. County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestors’ blood and magic have flowed through generations - and where her destiny awaits. Iona arrives in Ireland with nothing but her Nan’s directions, an unfailingly optimistic attitude, and an innate talent with horses.

Narrator shouts 3/4 of the story :-(
Reviewed: 11-09-13
What did you love best about Dark Witch?
I like the story, the flashbacks, the interconnected characters.
If you’ve listened to books by Nora Roberts before, how does this one compare?
I've listened to almost off of the Nora Roberts books on Audio CD/Audible. This narrator was, for me, one of the worst.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
First the Irish Brogue sounded more like old witches cackling. Then for intensity the narrator would crescendo into a shout for a lot of the scenes. Seriously loud. Romance - shout, danger lurking around the corner - shouting. I literally would have to turn the volume down in the car. I like an intense and moving love scene - when it's hollered at me, not so much.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
NO1
Any additional comments?
This is the first audio performance I wish I had just read the book. If you need a little Nora, I'd recommend the Audio version of Born in Fire, Born in Ice, Born in Shame.

Judith Hampton was as beautiful as she was proud and loyal. Her dear Scottish friend from childhood was about to give birth, and Judith had promised to be at her side. But there was another reason for the journey from her bleak English home to the Highlands: to meet the father she had never known, the Laird Maclean. Nothing prepared her, however, for the sight of the Scottish barbarian who was to escort her into his land...Iain Maitland, laird of his clan, a man more powerfully compelling than any she had ever encountered.

Story
Ryder is the hardest Montgomery brother to figure out - with a tough-as-nails outside and possibly nothing too soft underneath. He’s surly and unsociable, but when he straps on a tool belt, no woman can resist his sexy swagger. Except, apparently, Hope Beaumont, the innkeeper of his own Inn BoonsBoro.... As the former manager of a D.C. hotel, Hope is used to excitement and glamour, but that doesn’t mean she can’t appreciate the joys of small-town living. She’s where she wants to be - except for in her love life....

Where does The Perfect Hope rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I really like the way Mr. MacLoud performs a book. With the exception of his children's voices, there is just about the right amount of change between characters. Nice cadence.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Perfect Hope?
So many....I was laughing, crying, and sighing. Great in this type of genre.
What does MacLeod Andrews bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The bringing the characters to life. I think I acutally skim more of the story if I'm reading vs listening to an audiobook.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It was too long for that but it kept me company for many work drives.

What made the experience of listening to The Last Boyfriend the most enjoyable?
I really enjoyed the performance of this book. The story was a great continuation of the first in the series, The Next Always, but stands on it's own too.
What did you like best about this story?
Best? I think the twist that I will not reveal for the others who haven't experienced the story yet. Plus the secondary characters of Owen's mother and Avery's father.
What does MacLeod Andrews bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I like hearing books performed by men. Mr. MacLeod's narration is a good cadence and tone. I think when I listen to a book I actually hear more of the story than when I just read it myself.
Any additional comments?
Very enjoyable performance. I look forward to more romance narrations from this performer.

Story
The historic hotel in Boonsboro has endured war and peace, the changing of hands, and even rumored hauntings. Now it’s getting a major face-lift from the Montgomery brothers and their eccentric mother. As the architect in the family, Beckett’s social life consists mostly of talking shop over pizza and beer. But there’s another project he’s got his eye on: the girl he’s been waiting to kiss since he was sixteen.

What did you love best about The Next Always?
I love the character development in Nora Roberts' books. This was no exception. Although the recipe seems to be repeated from other series there were enough differences to make this really enjoyable. A few nice twists too.
What other book might you compare The Next Always to and why?
The McKade Brothers books by Nora Roberts. Similar premise with brothers finding true love.
Which character – as performed by MacLeod Andrews – was your favorite?
Becket for sure.
