Publisher's summary

Owen is the organizer of the Montgomery clan, running the family’s construction business with an iron fist - and an even less flexible spreadsheet. And though his brothers give him grief for his compulsive list making, the Inn BoonsBoro is about to open right on schedule. The only thing Owen didn’t plan for was Avery MacTavish....

Avery’s popular pizza place is right across the street from the inn, giving her a first-hand look at its amazing renovation - and a newfound appreciation for Owen. Since he was her first boyfriend when they were kids, Owen has never been far from Avery’s thoughts. But the attraction she’s feeling for him now is far from innocent.

As Avery and Owen cautiously take their relationship to another level, the opening of the inn gives the whole town of BoonsBoro a reason to celebrate. But Owen’s hard work has only begun. Getting Avery to let down her guard is going to take longer than he expected - and so will getting her to realize that her first boyfriend is going to be her last….

Critic reviews

“No one writes relationships as well as Ms. Roberts, with the subtleties and quirkiness of the give-and-take of friendship and romance.” ( Fresh Fiction)

The First and Last Boyfriend

The second Montgomery brother falls in love. Owen “the Organizer” Montgomery and Avery MacTavish “the little Red Machine” were each other’s first boyfriend and girlfriend, and they’ll be each other’s last.
We get snapshots of Claire and Beckett from book 1,The Next Always; and previews of Ryder and Hope from book 3.
Andrews did a very good job with narration.
Recommend.

Great series.

Love this series which improves with each reread. Avery was so feisty and Owen so steady.

Loved this series, ghost and all

I HAVE READ OR LISTENED TO MOST OF NORA ROBERTS MANY BOOKS AND THE INN BOONSBOROUGH TRILOGY IS MY FAVOURITE AND THE ONE THAT I RECALL THE MOST DETAIL OF. I LIKE THE FACT THAT NORA ROBERTS PAIRED THE VERY ORGANISED OWEN, WHO ON PAPER WOULD HAVE MATCHED PERFECTLY WITH HOPE WITH THE OUTGOING AND A LITTLE DITSY BUT NONETHELESS HARDWORKING AVERY.

Great storyline

This trilogy hits all emotional highs. Three very different women with different issues find love.

Anxiously waiting for Book 3 to come out in audio!

Where does The Last Boyfriend rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I'm hooked on this trilogy! I would like it to move along a little bit faster but it is still romantically slow. I am anxiously waiting for the the third book!

good story, now used to narrator

I've listened to almost 100 books -- many of them classics. This is my first Nora Roberts trilogy, and after reading the first book, I was looking forward to the second in the series.

This was another good listen, a good romance. Not overly sappy. I find myself watching Audible to see when the third installment will be available. The stories are still somewhat predictable -- I think I know how the third story will go -- but I don't care. I'm still invested in the characters.

I listened whenever I had even a few minutes to spare. I wanted to hear what happened next.

For the first book, I had a little trouble with the narrator. He wasn't all that great with creating distinct women's voices. Same with the second book -- but I was expecting it and just accepted it because I want to listen to these stories. I've resigned myself to the fact that it'll be the same person narrating the third book as did the first two, and I'll just deal with it.

It's all about strong, beautiful women and strong, handsome men -- all good, smart people.

Yes, it's a basic romance where all ends happily, and yes -- it's a fun listen. Can't wait for the third installment!

LOVE

I have always loved Nora Roberts but I had moved on to some other authors for a while and found this series in my purchased from a while back. I am in love! The narrator is fantastic!
