Story
Summer is coming to a close on the East End of Long Island, and Alex is no longer welcome. A misstep at a dinner party, and the older man she’s been staying with dismisses her with a ride to the train station and a ticket back to the city. With few resources and a waterlogged phone, but gifted with an ability to navigate the desires of others, Alex stays on Long Island and drifts like a ghost through the hedged lanes, gated driveways, and sun-blasted dunes of a rarefied world that is, at first, closed to her.

What a waste: Why not give your book an end. This story is like opening a gift to find it’s just an empty box…

This could have been such a great book. Not even a cliffhanger, it just stops. Hopefully if it gets turned into a limited series…they’ll give it a proper ending.

Story
Rachel DeLoache Williams’ new friend Anna Delvey, a self-proclaimed German heiress, was worldly and ambitious. She was also generous - picking up the tab for lavish dinners at Le Coucou, infrared sauna sessions at HigherDOSE, drinks at the 11 Howard Library bar, and regular workout sessions with a celebrity personal trainer. When Anna proposed an all-expenses-paid trip to Marrakech at the five-star La Mamounia hotel, Rachel jumped at the chance. But when Anna’s credit cards mysteriously stopped working, the dream vacation quickly took a dark turn.

Great listening. Her ‘performance’ is definitely something. She doesn’t do herself any favors - so interesting, like a people of W-mart website….hard to look away, while mind-boggling.
That said, she went through a lot, and that must have been so awful.

Story
If it’s navel-gazing you’re after, you’ve come to the wrong place; ditto treacly self-examination. Rather, his observations turn outward: a fight between two men on a bus, a fight between two men on the street, pedestrians being whacked over the head or gathering to watch as a man considers leaping to his death. There’s a dirty joke shared at a book signing, then a dirtier one told at a dinner party - lots of jokes here. Plenty of laughs.

Vapid and rich with irony. It's ambulance reading: you know
it's wrong, distasteful to stare-but you still just have to look. The most amusing but equally disturbing part is the narcissistic victim role she adopts....I think she tries to give this image of an innocent, hapless bystander in her own life- but I got the sense that she is the meanest girl of all. Definitely worth a listen.... If for no other reason to remind you of the person you never want to be...I would have cut her some slack, but not visiting a dying friend in the hospital was the last straw...

Narration ruins the book
Reviewed: 05-09-15
Where does Flawless Consulting rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
low because of narration...
What was one of the most memorable moments of Flawless Consulting?
The moments when I could actually pay attention to the content and not the annoying inflection of the narrator
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
not narrated this book....he puts a speedy emphasis on the last syllable of almost every other word and then sort of lets words trail off in a mumbling kind of way...and its intentional...so very aggravating.
Any additional comments?
redo.
