Story
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Great story,narrating was awful
Reviewed: 09-04-23
I haven’t watched anything she’s acted in,so I don’t know if she talks like this all the time .BUT for audio books I just expect calm and slow narration, which this wasn’t at all.Story was very interesting and I get that the story mainly is about her mom, hence it’s not very positive and uplifting story.

Story
From the do-or-die early days of self-financed recordings and D.I.Y. concert productions that were as flashy as they were foolhardy, to the multi-platinum, MTV-powered glory years of stadium-shaking anthems and chart-topping power ballads, to the ultimate crash when grunge bands like Nirvana forever altered the entire climate of the business, Tom Beaujour and Richard Bienstock's Nothin' But a Good Time captures the energy and excess of the hair metal years in the words of the musicians and industry insiders who lived it.

I think he could've got more in to showbiz part of his life, but it's obviously less important to him. Most of the book it's about his faith and his views on acting and art.

Good book, I personally think she only told the stories that she knew would be in the headlines but also left a lot out. Not a whole lot was said about Bruce more about Ashton, maybe because they are still in such good terms.
