Story
Many homeschool parents have a long-term relationship with self-doubt. "Did I make the right decision?" "Could someone else do this better?" "Am I robbing my kids of something by not sending them to 'regular school'?" What if there's a better way? Not a three-step technique or a shiny, new curriculum but a change in perspective that transforms the way you plan, teach, and homeschool?

Answer to a cry for help!
Reviewed: 08-19-24
Jamies book came at just the right time this summer. It was like a fresh breath of truth and answer to a cry for help, when I felt like I was suffocating! I hadn't realized how many doubts and fears had piled up on my mind until one moment when it all came tumbling down. I started to panic and look for private schools and a homeschool group as our quick fix. I heard the Lord say out of love, "do not pursue that any further."
I've never read/listened to a homeschool book that has ministered to me so much to just walk the journey God has me specifically on. A book that doesn't make me feel I'm not checking all the boxes, but reminded me of my calling and the freedom God has gifted to just be.....be the mom He knew my specific kids would need, doing what they need. Not comparing or fearful we are missing out.... But trusting that he will complete the work He has begun!

Story
Life for Lady Adelaide Bell was easier if she hid in her older sister's shadow - which worked until her sister got married. Even with the pressure of her socially ambitious mother, the last thing she expected was a marriage of convenience to save her previously spotless reputation. Lord Trent Hawthorne couldn't be happier that he is not the duke in the family. He's free to manage his small estate and take his time discovering the life he wants to lead.

Don't judge the author by the narrator
Reviewed: 04-12-24
This author is brilliant. I have loved this entire series but must agree with other opinions about the narrator. Her male voices are just awful. It definitely took away from the beauty of this story! I love listening to audiobooks but this one I should have skipped and read the hard copy of the book! The next book in the series is read by a MUCH better narrator!! I truly wish the narrator of book 4 would have read them all.

Story
As a mom, you want to nurture a strong family, but fear steals your joy. Jennifer Pepito was intent on loving her children well, but fear and worry pushed her around. Ultimately, she found her joy in a most surprising place: the pages of classic literature she was reading aloud to her children every day. These stories helped her reclaim the wonder of childhood for herself and her children. In Mothering by the Book, Jennifer takes you on a fascinating, whimsical journey that will bring freedom and fun to your parenting—one great book at a time.

Favorite real, practical, spiritual

From start to finish it was engaging and I could relate in so many instances to Jennifer's real honest truth! This is in the top 2 of my favorite homeschool, Charlotte Mason, Holy Spirit, truth led books! She shares real and practical advice. Not just to do's, but how to's! Thank you Jennifer for being raw & real with us all. For sharing the hard stuff that we all struggle with!
