Pushing any of its eight colored buttons promised death and destruction. Years later, the button box reentered Gwendy’s life. Now, malignant forces seek to possess the button box, and it is up to Senator Gwendy Peterson to keep it from them at all costs.

Chizmar and King bring it again!
Reviewed: 05-03-23
Chizmar fan here, and this novel proves out why he's an amazing writer alongside Stephen King. I've been with Gwendy since she was 12 years old, and this was the epic and heroic storyline and finale she deserved. I spent an extra 30 minutes driving around in my car to listen to the ending because it's my Zen place for audio books. I appreciated the reference to current events alongside the storyline. Cannot wait for Chizmar's next masterpiece. Special thanks to Ms. Ireland for a great narration, I was hooked onto the story thru her portrayal of the characters, especially Gwendy.

Excellent storyline and casting. Quinto was made for this role. Was really tough to stop listening to do adulting (work, kids, errands). Can't wait to see what the dynamic duo of Quinto and Patterson come up with next for Audible.

Story
Something evil has swept into the small Western Maine town of Castle Rock on the heels of the latest winter storm. Sheriff Norris Ridgewick and his team are desperately searching for two missing girls, but time is running out to bring them home alive. In Washington, DC, 37-year-old Gwendy Peterson couldn’t be more different from the self-conscious teenage girl who once spent a summer running up Castle Rock’s Suicide Stairs. That same summer, she was entrusted - or some might say cursed - with the extraordinary button box by Richard Farris, the mysterious stranger in the black suit.

Muldoon's Tea Rooms, beloved for the cozy atmosphere and luscious desserts, has started looking a bit outdated, and the same could be said about the proprietors, Penny and Daniel Stanley.

Sharon Owens does a wonderful job presenting several "life" stories set in or around the quaint tea house. I really got caught up in the narrative. A mix of mystery, romance, drama all surrounded by the common human struggles and joys of living life. I found myself making excuses to take long driving trips just so I could finish listening to the book. Moving on to the next title in this series...woohoo!

Chiz Delivers Great Criminal Mystery
Reviewed: 01-03-22
My son and I were absolutely hooked on this novel from the first chapter all the way through author's end notes. Perfect for those who enjoy mysteries and crime novels and shows. Voice actor did a great job delivering the story with true feeling and portrayed each character, especially the narrator Chiz.
