Since she was nine years old, Alina Dziak knew she would marry her best friend, Tomasz. Now 15 and engaged, Alina is unconcerned by reports of Nazi soldiers at the Polish border, believing her neighbors that they pose no real threat, and dreams instead of the day Tomasz returns from college in Warsaw so they can be married. But little by little, injustice by brutal injustice, the Nazi occupation takes hold, and Alina’s tiny rural village, its families, are divided by fear and hate. In 2017, a routine network television investigation led to a story only whispered about: one of Hollywood’s most powerful producers was a predator, protected by fear, wealth, and a conspiracy of silence. As Farrow drew closer to the truth, shadowy operatives, from high-priced lawyers to elite war-hardened spies, mounted a secret campaign of intimidation, threatening his career, following his every move, and weaponizing an account of abuse in his own family.

Story
Adam Mackay. Local legend. My brother’s best friend. The world biggest movie star...and my major, epic, unrequited crush. He needs a cat-sitter in sunny L.A., and I need a place to live after a bad breakup. Perfect, right? Sure, if you possess any type of self-control. Spoiler alert: I have none. This arrangement has trouble written all over it, but warning signs are meant to be ignored. Kind of like clicking on the "I have read and agreed" no one actually reads before clicking. Problem is, I never did agree to fall so quickly back into love.

I had higher hopes for this title but it was more like a filler read. Kind of meaningless unless I missed some major point. It's a decent romance book maybe a drama if you want to call it that but wasn't totally up my alley.
