Story
Rosie was always told her red hair was a curse, but she never believed it. She often dreamed what it would look like under a white veil with the man of her dreams by her side. However, her life takes a harrowing turn in 1944 when she is forced out of her home and sent to the most gruesome of places: Auschwitz. Upon arrival, Rosie’s head is shaved and along with the loss of her beautiful hair, she loses the life she once cherished.

The story is written in pretty basic style, but the message is real!! We learn about her life outside of auchwitz as the weaves in and out of the camp and her home. A very determined young lady. With a goal to unite and learn from the past.

Story
Suddenly in the spotlight, 24-year-old Hannah Brown realized that she wasn’t sure what she wanted. After years of competing in beauty pageants, and then starring on The Bachelorette and Dancing with the Stars, she had become incredibly visible. There she was, in her early twenties, with millions around the world examining and weighing in on her every decision. She found herself wondering what it would mean to live on her terms. What it would mean to stop seeking approval from others and decide - for the first time - what it was she wanted from her own life.

Unexpectedly rich and full of truth and character

I watch the bachelor, so why not read the book? In this case I audio’d it. I was surprised by the back story that fills in the blanks and explains behaviors and tabloid headings.
Hanna is honest, not dramatic or overly sensationalizing in her story. There is laughter and heartbreak, even tragedy that popped up out of no where.
I could relate to so much in her story. I couldn’t have imagined that could be true. She is a real girl/woman with insecurities, family issues and experiences that could be mine or anyone’s. With the thoughts and feelings that most anyone could relate to.
Well worth the read. Maybe your teens and young adults can find wisdom in Hannas story too.
Didn’t think I wanted to read this, but so glad I did.

Story
The astounding story of one girl's journey from war victim to UNICEF Special Representative. As a child in a small rural village in Sierra Leone, Mariatu Kamara lived peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Rumors of rebel attacks were no more than a distant worry. But when 12-year-old Mariatu set out for a neighboring village, she never arrived. Heavily armed rebel soldiers attacked and tortured Mariatu. During this brutal act of senseless violence they cut off both of her hands.

Very compelling & innocence lost

The is a heart felt story of young Mariatu. Her growing up I. War torn Sierra Leon, he love of family, the terror and loss of war and the fight for a voice. Written from the words of a child it is very sweet and it will break your heart, but you will laugh and feel her triumph.

Story
What’s in a name? A lot. The name Tinaca, for example, has been passed down in the Jones family for generations of women. In fact, the Joneses name a Tinaca every other generation, to let the name breathe a little. To let each Tinaca shine. And shine is exactly what Tinaca Jones intends to do.
