I loved this. It was cute and so much fun, but ended on cliffhanger. Can't wait for the next book.

Non-stop hilarity
Reviewed: 08-08-19
This book was an absolute laugh riot from beginning to end. This is like an audio-book version of Southpark, No one is safe. Larry Correia (pronounced like Korea only spelled different) does not even exempt himself or narrator Adam Baldwin from his razor-sharp wit. Both men obviously have a great sense of humor. I found it to be a short, fun, light read full of laugh out loud moments.. Enjoyed it so much. Thanks Audible.

Story
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

Story
Once upon a time, in an alleyway in the slums of the City of Lockes, a young and somewhat lonely boy named Sam Haversford turns a group of teenage douchebags into stone completely by accident. Of course, this catches the attention of a higher power, and Sam's pulled from the only world he knows to become an apprentice to the king's wizard, Morgan of Shadows.

Spot on Narrration. Full of Laugh Out Loud Moment

This was an absolutely brilliant work of art. Definitely a case where the narration really added to the story. Michael Lesley did a terrific job narrating. Gary, Tiggy and Kevin were FABULOUS. The characters, and the inflections, rhythm and manner of speaking were so...right. Truly amazing. Add to that this is a story by TJ Klune, which is always a winner, this book is a must read. Even now, I laugh just thinking of the book. This will definitely be a book I will listen to again and again.

Story
Blake Davis is in the closet. And he's going to stay that way. Because if his father finds out he's gay, Blake could lose everything he's worked so hard to achieve during the last six years as CEO of Trinity Publishing, the fastest rising star in the publishing firmament. Not that coming out wouldn't solve a couple of problems. Maybe then his father would stop trying to set him up with yet another empty-headed, social-climbing girlfriend.

Decent story with the wrong narration
Reviewed: 02-14-18
I think this may be a case of where the the narrator can make or break a book. Some narrators do such a fabulous job that even a so so book can come alive and be riveting. Unfortunately in this case, I would say the narrator broke this book. I think he would be better suited for anything not involving romance or any sort of sexual situation. Listening to the intimate scenes was just bad. The voice was strained, but not with anything pleasant. Sounded more like pain than passion. I'm currently debating whether or not to listen to the next book in the series or buying the kindle version. Definitely would not buy the audio, but may listen if it is included in the Romance Package.
As for the story itself. It was decent, but I'm afraid my opinion of the story may be influenced by the narration. It was definitely not the best or the worst book I've listened to.
