Publisher's summary

A sexy alien living incognito on Earth meets a sci-fi loving nerd who wants to rock his universe. What could possibly go wrong? Besides the unexpected tentacles and the accidental Mating Courtship Ritual, that is....

River Sullivan: As a bona fide sci-fi nerd and total X-phile—the truth is out there—I’ve always believed in aliens. Duh. But I never thought I’d actually find them on Earth–let alone right here in Las Vegas! Now, I’ve stumbled onto a big freakin’ secret, and found my very own hot AF alien. I’m head over heels, but he’s being a total grump and holding back. How do I make him realize a geeky sunshine guy like me is just what he needs in his life? Did I mention he also has tentacles?!?! #HolyHentaiFantasyBatman #SwoonworthyAlien #SignMeUpSugar #MakeItSo #VivaLasVegas

Kai Genaro: The last thing I need in my life is a chatterbox twink who’s determined to woo me and could expose the secret existence of aliens on Earth to all humankind. Everything about him annoys me, including his stupidly attractive halo of golden curls and his bright green "come hither" eyes. To make matters worse, he’s been recruited to work for the alien alliance on Earth, and I’m assigned to keep him out of trouble. I don’t care how attractive he is. I don’t date humans! Except, my tentacles may have accidentally started the Mating Courtship Ritual with him....

Hilarious Story and the Narration is on Point

THE STORY: What an utter delight!!! From the snark to the romance I loved just about everything about this book. River is such a unique MC. I mean he's definitely weird, but he has such a kind and accepting heart. I don't blame Kai at all for falling for his exuberant charms. I just love a grumpy sunshine pairing and Kai is definitely the grumpy to Rivers sunshine.

On top of the romance, there is a criminal case the law enforcing agency of the Aliens are working on. I won't name them, the surprise is worth it! The side characters were also so rich and added a ton of fun to the storyline. Major props to Benji, the hilarious stoner uncle of River's. He was a hoot. Book 2 in this series looks like it's going to continue with Kai and River as the MCs which makes sense as the ending was more of an HFN than an HEA. The plotline will likely also continue in book 2 as well. I will say, I am hoping that Kai's brother Mal gets his time to shine. The little teases we get of his potential love interest makes me have grabby hands for his story. I just want more of this world in general and can't wait to book 2!

THE NARRATION: I have to say, I think Greg Boudreaux knocked it out of the park with this one. His voice for River is spot on to what I imagined he sounded like. And his deep commanding voice for Kai? *shivers* Just top notch for this one!

Fun and interesting bk 1 Ends on a cliffhanger

I really enjoyed this story. Finally, at least for me, a new take on the whole aliens are among us.
Kai and River are a great match. Although I do have to say, it took a while for me to like River. But by the end, his character grew on me.
The supporting characters are very well done and give a well-rounded and enjoyable tale.
My one big issue is that it does end on a cliffhanger. And I simply do not like that.
As always, Greg did an incredible job with all the characters' voices. And made this audiobook out of this world

Fantastic 5 star alien sci fi book!

Narration: It was fantastic! I could tell that Greg had a blast with this book. All of the voices - especially River’s - totally fit the characters. I loved reading this book, but loved the audio even more because Greg brought the characters and story to life.

Story: The only reason I picked up this book is because I will always give queer sci fi and alien books a chance. And I’m so glad that I did! Based on the cover, I was ready for some cheesy, spicy fun. But this book was that and so much more!

So basically we have big time sci fi nerd River who, along with his stoner uncle Benji, is determined to prove that there are aliens among us. They just so happen to live next door to a guy who calls himself Tom Jones, dresses like Tom Jones, and listens to Tom Jones. What in the Mars Attacks, right? Fast forward to River finding out he’s right, meeting one of the hunkiest aliens alive, aka Kai, and his life changing in a huge way.

River has absolutely no filter and is way too curious for his own good. I loved him! I laughed out loud at a bunch of his lines and the things he gets himself into. He can’t be anything but honest with his feelings and I loved how he is open with Kai about his attraction from the start. Kai is River’s total opposite, but you know what they say? The quiet ones are the freaky ones and I’d say that’s true! But that aside, he’s perfect for balancing out River’s more uninhibited character. There is a super entertaining scene where he lets his guard down and lets loose and it was so fun seeing that side of him. But also, the scene is downright hilarious and made me laugh so hard.

I also adored the side characters. River’s family essentially consists of his uncle Benji and best friend Evan, both of whom love River so very much and it was super sweet. They also say the darndest things right alongside River. Kai’s family is totally awesome and I loved every scene with them. There are also some fun “coworker” type characters. I hope to see everybody in the next book and to learn more about them!

The plot was also super interesting! I think this is going to be a series that follows Kai and River as the main characters. Their romance is a HFN by the end of the book, but there is a cliffhanger that is set up for the next book. I can’t wait! I don’t want to give away any spoilers, so I’ll just say that some things in the book are predictable, but they play out in a way you might not expect and there are some great twists.

The book itself is pretty long (102k words), but it never ever felt that long. It didn’t drag and it kept my interest the whole time. I’m not typically a long book kinda gal, so that’s saying something!

This book was so incredibly fun and could appeal to anyone, but especially to sci fi nerds. There are a ton of references that pop culture sci fi geeks will catch, both obvious and obscure. If this kind of stuff is your jam, you have to pick this up. Can’t wait for more!

P.S. for those who are curious, yes there are tentacles and they do come out to play. Happy reading!

that was the best book ever. Loved the characters as well as the plot I thought everything was good but then you do a wrench in there like he's royalty on top of being half alien I can't wait for the next book.

Hilarous, fun, and sweet

This was the fluffiest fluff that ever fluffed, and I loved every minute of it. It was hilarious, jam-packed full of sci-fi pop culture references, and interesting enough to have me eager to find out if my guesses were correct. I love that the rest of the series will continue to follow the same main characters, as I can't wait to see what kind of trouble they get themselves into. The sex was hot without being too much (medium steam level with a hit of hot sauce for the tentacles) and the romance was sweet. The characters are lovable and quirky, and Greg Boudreaux's narration made them absolutely perfect. He's a favorite narrator of mine anyway, but in this story, his humor was able to shine. I was hesitant to give this one a try as I generally prefer fantasy to sci-fi, but it wasn't too sciency and was perfectly fantastical. Many kudos to the author, and I can't wait until Book 2 is on audio!

Do yourself a favor and listen! :)

I was pleasantly surprised from the get-go on how good this story was. I didn’t expect a love story about an alien would be good, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. River stole the show with his snarky comments, quick wit and unceasing happiness balanced out by Kai’s polished exterior, dry humor and serious demeanor they made a great couple. It was just the right amount of sexy with the action of the story still taking you on a fun and exciting journey. Greg Boudreaux did an amazing job narrating this book his character voices were on point. He is a narrator I don’t typically listen to, but after this performance, I’m going to look into him more!I honestly can’t wait for the second and third book to be on audible. I hope it doesn’t take too long and I hope Mr. Boudreaux is the one narrating.

Stupid funny

I kinda expected this book to just be mostly tentacle corn but instead was thrilled to find unique and defined characters, a real plot, and tons of hilarious sci fi references and ramblings. I’m not sure if I’ve ever laughed out loud so much while listening to a book. I will definitely be reading the next books and look forward to more by this author

Hilarious, sweet and great fun!

Honestly, had seen this recommended a million times and wondered if it was exaggerated - Believe the Hype!!
I had so much fun listening that I had to find longer routes to get to work so that I could keep listening :)
River is a delight, Kai a perfect stoic match, memorable secondary characters, an unusual (could not resist ;) ) plot. I can't wait for the next book.
Narration
It's Greg Boudreaux. if you don't know how fantastic he is, how well he immerses himself in the story, how brilliant his performances are - then you have probably been living in a non-English speaking country. Seriously though - he is the perfect choice for this series!!!!
