OH MY WORD!!!!! I love fantasy fiction but so often I end up having to skip entire sections of a book because of the spicy parts. I'm not about censorship in anyway shape or form but I wish there were more books like these. Love the whole series.

I usually love listening to this type of series, but this one fell short. Not so much because it was lacking but because there was too much going on. It felt like Michelle Madow took every popular children's/ya series and dumped it into one. We had hints of EVERYTHING in there, and it was too much. It does make for good background sleep listening because of Caitlin Kelly's narration which was by far the best part of this series.

I picked this up with the KU book... OH, MY WORD! So the thing is that I fell in love with Karissa's voice at the start! And Carolyn's storytelling skills are beyond superb. No spoilers but this book will have you feeling all the feels. You will laugh, cry, and everything in between. Never a dull moment and the ending will leave you feeling quite satisfied.

If you really want to know about yourself in plain English then this is the book for you. Don't pick this book up if you are content with living with your head in the sand, spiritually speaking of course. Craig Groeschel does an excellent job of describing what a "christian atheist" is. Talk about being convicted. If we are honest with God and ourselves we will all find there is a little bit, or even a lot of christian atheism in our own lives.

But The performance here left much to be desired. The narrator read the whole book with this intense urgency. I get that Jordan is more intense than the other female characters in the series but good grief! When I read the e-book version of the book I kind of heard the teasing/fun side of Jordan that I didn't get in the audio version. I was disappointed with the performance, but the story is still great.

The dream team combo of Sarah J. Maas and Elizabeth Evans made me fall in love with all the characters! Even the ones I hated I kind of loved. I can't wait to read the rest of the series. I guess what I loved most about it was how the story unfolded with passion.
