Story
Grace Adams gave birth, blinked, and now suddenly she is forty-five, perimenopausal and stalled—the unhappiest age you can be, according to the Guardian. And today she’s really losing it. Stuck in traffic, she finally has had enough. To the astonishment of everyone, Grace gets out of her car and simply walks away. Grace sets off across London, armed with a £200 cake, to win back her estranged teenage daughter on her sixteenth birthday. Because today is the day she’ll remind her daughter that no matter how far we fall, we can always get back up again

What a great story! Lots of twists and turns- just like life. Such a relatable story for all women/mothers of a “certain age”. I laughed; I cried; I sat in my car for way too long to listen to just a bit more of the Amazing Grace Adams.

Story
In the shadows of New York City lies forbidden North Brother Island, where the remains of a shuttered sanatorium hide the haunting memories of century-old quarantines and human experiments. The ruins conceal the scarred and beautiful Cora, imprisoned by contagions and the doctors who torment her.

Amazing story!

This story was so timely and full of twists and turns. This is a book for this time! I can’t wait to research North Brother Island and it’s history! And I can’t wait for the sequel!
I loved the Authors’ note at the end! Shelly Nolden explained everything about her life experiences and how that impacted the story line.
My only critique of the audio book was the narrator’s tones attempting to sound like various male characters. But honestly, I don’t think anyone else could do better.
