Story
A masterpiece of satire, this classic has entertained and enlightened readers the world over with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to "Our Father Below". At once wildly comic, deadly serious, and strikingly original, C. S. Lewis gives us the correspondence of the worldly-wise old devil to his nephew Wormwood, a novice demon in charge of securing the damnation of an ordinary young man. The Screwtape Letters is the most engaging and humorous account of temptation - and triumph over it - ever written.

Story
How can Christians pursue and implement the miraculous gifts of the Spirit without falling into fanatical excess and splitting the church in the process? In Practicing the Power, pastor and author Sam Storms offers practical steps to understanding and exercising spiritual gifts in a way that remains grounded in the word and centered in the gospel. With examples drawn from his 40 years of ministry as a pastor and teachers, Storms offers a guidebook that can help pastors, elders, and church members understand what changes are needed to see God move in supernatural power.

Story
John Newton, Charles Simeon, and William Wilberforce suffered lifelong opposition and endured for the causes of gospel truth, missionary zeal, and political justice. They found, in solid doctrine and humble joy, the tough roots for habitual tenderness in response to their adversaries - without doctrinal or moral flinching. They are examples of remarkable grace. In the third book of the Swans Are Not Silent series, best-selling author John Piper looks at the lives of these three great men and how they not only endured great opposition but did so with joy and without bitterness.

I recommend this to every Christian. This isn’t simply a book that is for people that are going through things. It’s a book that encourages us and equips Christ’s body to run the race even when trials and tribulations come— which Jesus promised that they will. You won’t regret reading this!

Good, but not great.

I enjoy this book for simply how deep it went into how our thoughts affect our lives; however, if this book is primarily a Christian book then I do not like how it did not acknowledge the grace of God and how God has consistently blessed people throughout history in spite of their obedience to Him and it was the blessing that pointed them towards Christ.
I also don’t believe that suffering = misaligned thought life. When your thought life is right and someone suns against you, it is appropriate to deem that as suffering that you could not control.
Good book. Helped me a lot.
