A Star Wars Horror Story
Reviewed: 06-13-24
This story was very intriguing and was definitely different from the other niche Star Wars stories out there.
This is a story of what happens when a mad scientist becomes a Sith. Crazy it was but it was good.
My only cons about the story is as follows
1.) The chapters were extremely short making it feel like there was a lot going on, which there was, a lot of characters to remember and interweaving plots and storylines and I know that can be a bit much for audio sometimes.
2.) Since this is pretty much s horror story there is foly work that some may find...overbearing. I mean they say screaming happens and it sounds like the screaming cowboy meme. Not just once either but multiple layers of it at the same time in the background while still telling the story. it was a bit too much and made it more annoying and overbearing.
If you can handle those cons definitely give it a listen because the story is quite good.

While this was a great reading and narration the story seemed to fall short. I don't feel like it was the characters but the BBEG's seemed not altogether there. It didn't feel like much of a threat to the main protagonists even though the BBEG is something to be feared especially in the D&D universe.

Story
The second novel set in the Old Republic era and based on the massively multiplayer online game Star Wars: The Old Republic ramps up the action and brings listeners face-to-face for the first time with a Sith warrior to rival the most sinister of the Order’s Dark Lords: Darth Malgus, the mysterious, masked Sith of the wildly popular “Deceived” and “Hope” game trailers. Malgus brought down the Jedi Temple on Coruscant in a brutal assault that shocked the galaxy....

Action Packed Star Wars Story
Reviewed: 06-04-24
The way this story was written you can definitely feel like it would have a right to be made into an official Star Wars film. Love getting to see the perspective of the galaxy from different points of view that eventually collide with one another. This was very action packed and definitely left you wanting to continue chapter after chapter. The narration and voices were on point and made this even better.

I love that this takes place just a couple years after the first Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic video game. Staying true to the story and the characters this was a delightful treat for KOTOR or Old Republic fans like me. Although not all characters were featured there is the honorable mention of all of our beloved crew from the video game.
The narration was great and the range of voices put on display for the characters really made the story come to life. This definitely makes you wanting more! Worth the time amd money!

Delightful Forgotten Realms Story
Reviewed: 05-22-24
Overall this wasn't a bad story by any means nor was it any greater than the first two books in the Lost Empires series.
I personally feel the going back and forth in time made it give away some of the stories suprise and intrigue. Although I understand the need to tell what happened previously was crucial to understand what was happening in the present I feel it could have led to cool story telling moments.
During certain times in the story I was waning interest in the story as some parts were dull and a rehashing of what was previously learned the chapter before.
My gripes aside it has all the elements of a Forgotten Realms story and was overall a delightful yet somewhat disturbing story.

Although Evermeet seems to be a monument to the strength and solidarity of the elven people, its history is one of conflict. At the heart of its story is Amlaruil, Queen of All Elves. When Evermeet comes under attack, her sacrifice holds the last hope of saving the elven homeland. A classic fantasy centered around the clash between good and evil in a beautiful, magical, and romantic land.

The performances bring out that extra flare in the characters especially with the Dwarven characters! If you are a fan of fantasy and dwarves, definitely pick this up!

Great world that's built a lot to explore!
Reviewed: 12-18-20
I loved the first book in the trilogy and getting to listen to this one was great as well. The only thing some may find difficult is the time jumping in the book. Even I had issues at some points trying to follow along and figure out what exactly was going on. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Other than that I love the world that's built in this story and the character development is great. Overall the story does a great job of keeping you interested and intrigued with what is going to happen next.
