The narrator is not suited for the female character. The female parts were so bad that I could not concentrate on the book. I could not get past the 3rd chapter.

I should’ve known she would ruin me the moment I saw her. Women like her are made to destroy men like me. I couldn’t resist her though. Given to me to start a war; I was too eager to accept. But I didn’t know what she’d do to me. That she would change everything.

I tried but could not continue with this audiobook. Jacob Morgan’s voice is a dream but the female narrator ruined it for me. She is too slow and whiny and over the top dramatic. I couldn’t stand it past a few chapters.

I just cant continue with this story. The female narrator should NEVER do romance or adult fiction. Her voice is suited more for children’s books.

A life she believes she is destined to always lead, until a horrific event sets her free. Great Narration
Reviewed: 05-06-18
When I first started this book I was not sure about the narrators. It quickly turned out that they we great for their parts, especially Styx. His speech impediment could have come across as fake and been distracting to the story. JF Harding did a great job making it seem natural to his character. The audible version definitely made this book better for me than it would have been if I had just read it.

Audio did not do the story justice
Reviewed: 04-28-18
I loved this story and actually ended up reading much of it instead of listening. The narration was very flat most of the time and the gum chewing was overly annoying. There should have been inflection in narration. The exclamation marks in the text should have been a clue to the narrator that she needed to be a little more expressive. Great book but the narration felt flat, in my opinion.

Story
I wanted to lose myself in the small town of Pelion, Maine. To forget everything I had left behind. The sound of rain. The blood. The coldness of a gun against my skin. For six months, each breath has been a reminder that I survived—and my dad didn't. I'm almost safe again. But the moment I meet Archer Hale, my entire world tilts on its axis . . . and never rights itself again. Until I trespass into his strange, silent, and isolated world, Archer communicates with no one. Yet in his whiskey-colored eyes, something intangible happens between us.

How? Why have I waited so long to read this book? It is beautiful. It is one of those books that you are sad for it to end. It made me cry “big fat” tears, just like Bree. This is a beautiful story and I am in love with Bree and Archer. I don’t have the words to do this book justice. It is going on my favorites list!!!
