It's been nearly 200 years since the collapse of the Confederacy, the last government to claim humanity's colonies. slow down cowboy
Reviewed: 05-07-22
I thought the story was great! I stayed with it as much as possible, I feel as if the reader read too fast. I say that because the amount of information that was coming at me was greater than I could comprehend at a given moment in time. I had to go over and over and over things to comprehend them as fast as he was putting it out there. maybe I am just a slow learner? more than likely I am, but I would like it read a little bit slower and I would be able comprehend everything that was coming at me .

Story
John Perry did two things on his 75th birthday. First he visited his wife's grave. Then he joined the army. The good news is that humanity finally made it into interstellar space. The bad news is that planets fit to live on are scarce—and alien races willing to fight us for them are common. So: we fight. To defend Earth, and to stake our own claim to planetary real estate. Far from Earth, the war has been going on for decades: brutal, bloody, unyielding. Earth itself is a backwater.
