Patterson writes for this every bit as well as he does for his books. Using the spoken word and casting each character becomes richly developed even if only briefly.

Perhaps I misunderstood, but I thought Petra and Aristotle were born after Nix and Katma, yet the Mother refers to her as her eldest daughter.

Previously Nix and Katma had talked about their time before the twins.

I am pleasantly surprised that this isn’t about Vampires.

I love Wil Wheaton and Ron Perlman individually, but they are great as a pair. This is a very clever story line, anyone who has minority report thoughts when personalized ads come up will have a good think about this gem.

The word cute applies to this series. Which is why I’m not crazy about it. It is predictable, which makes for a relaxing audio book. And the performances are actually pretty good.

This is a nice start to a series. There were a couple of story jumps that were confusing (times & places moved without understanding how much or how far) , but it didn’t detract from a cute story. And, yes, I’ll get book 2.

The performances are very good, so much so that I can’t help but believe Audible is the only way to take in this work. It is as much radio as prose.

Others may disagree, but I didn’t see this end at all. Very much worth a listen just to see what you think about it.

Well done Audible!!! Vanessa Kirby read well, the story was rich and familiar but fresh and modern as well.

I believe Peter Fullagar sapped out every exciting element with British Wasp nonchalance. It’s a gift. As far at the books themselves…I liked that every other paragraph wasn’t a complete sexual act, however I could do with fewer Mr. Wriggly references. I like the time date reference, but feel it would be a stronger audio book with that in the chapter title. I enjoy the concept Higgs was shooting for…but ultimately it’s just a private eyes with no Noir….it needs Noir.
