About this listen

Available in audio first, this hot, hilarious stand-alone will keep you wildly entertained!

Welcome to Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where shape-shifters, vampires, witches, and dragons live alongside humans. The town formed around the mysterious energy rift in the bayou, which helps keep the town’s magic in balance. But lately the rift has been widening and destabilizing - threatening to send the town’s magical population into chaos.

Energy witch Danica Teel has been sent by the League to figure out what’s going on, with the help of bear-shifter Mayor Zed. While working on the case, Zed falls head over paws for Dani, but she’s reluctant to engage in anything beyond a roll in his cave. Dani’s family is counting on her to get the job done, and she has no time for distractions. But when an ominous presence begins stalking Dani through the bayou, they’ll need to band together to make it out alive.

Love this series ...

I’m soooooo sad the 3rd book is not out. I even think I know who our next heroine will be ;) This story was even more fun and adorable than Jill and Bael’s story. Zeb has a lazy sexy vibe and an Dani was intelligent and sassy. Again I was not overwhelmed by the paranormal-ness of this little world MH has created. It’s just enough para-facts to get legit and allow the town, the quirky characters, the pies and the love to shine. There is also not and over abundance of waxing poetic about para-hotness. The hero’s are of course tall and dreamy but you fall in love with their wit and determination the banter is really enjoyable between all the characters. The mystery continues from book one into this and was left open enough to move into another novel. But it’s not a cliff hanger. The mystery unfolds quietly almost in this one kinda an unimportant character it seems until it’s boom front and center and your like omg all the neatly placed little clues have just come together. Can’t wait for more I’m really enjoying these.
Again the audio was very well done the many characters voices and accents preformed by just two readers was really something lots of talent and a quality recording.

cute

Cute addition to Harper’s Mystic Bayou series, though I like the first book more.
Ronconi is the voice for Harper’s books.
I wasn’t comfortable with Davis’ narration at first, but it got better as the story progressed. His strength is in his male voices.
I do enjoy dual narration with both a male and female narrator, but prefer when they read together, not alternating chapters.

Even better than the first ... WOW, cute and fun.

Let me say that I love the first book in the series ... the second book is even BETTER.

If I could give this book a hug I would. It is honestly a book I’ll listen to again and again.

Mystic in more ways than one

The second book equally riveting, wonderfully read, and cant wait for the next one! Sincerely, The ongoing story of this community I hope will become as well rounded and full of love and unique characters as the Half Moon Hollow series.
Being from the swampy lowlands of Florida myself I can see the visuals better in Molly Harper's descriptions!
Both narrator's ability to bring the words to life were excellent and I love Zed's narration of deep growliness best!
Looking forward to the next book already!

Where the werebear gets his mate

Danni is brought in to Mystic Bayou to see if the space rift could be contained. Danni had a certain talent for healing rifts. The werebear Zeb took one look at this beautiful king sized lady and fell madly in love with her. Zeb and Danni work out their mating relationship while saving the town from outside forces. Lots of action, romance, mystery, and snark to keep you listening. Great for ages 12 and older.

Love Zed!

I enjoyed the first book in this series so much I couldn't wait for this one. The characters are so much fun, and the plot just takes the reader on a crazy trip that's definitely not on the AAA tour guide. It's insanity in a comedic Twilight Zone, and this time the Mayor is falling head over bear paws in love. Zed is one of the favorite characters from the first book, so he's even more fun when he's losing his mind for a woman from the Outside. His narrator does an awesome job, having a deep, growly voice that just perfectly suits the bear shifter. The story is fun, the plot is intricate and fast-paced, and the romance is as steamy as that "Loosy-anna" bayou. Nice.

Wild Love Near The Rift

Rating: 4.5/5
Heat Rating: 3/5
Narrator Performance: Female: 4/5 Male: 4.5/5

If you want a PNR filled with humor then you can never go wrong with Molly Harper. With LOVE AND OTHER WILD THINGS we once again travel to Mystic Bayou and it's wide variety of occupants. As we learned in HOW TO DATE YOUR DRAGON the town's magical rift is acting up and getting worse by the day. Enter Danica, the energy witch tasked with the job of repairing it. As soon as she got close to the rift she knew that the decline in it's stability wasn't natural. She had to get to the bottom of what was going on. Who better to help her than Zed, the town Mayor? What follows is a fun story full of small town quirkiness, escapades and a surprise (to me) villain. LOVE AND OTHER WILD THINGS is yet another example of Harper's addictive storytelling.

If you're going to listen to a Molly Harper book then you know that you'll have the pleasure of listening to one of Amanda Ronconi's fantastic performances. She always does a fantastic job and I enjoyed how her performance complimented Jonathan Davis'. His portrayal of Zed was spot on IMO. They both had great paces even if Davis' was nice and slow just like a lumbering 🐻 (if not a southerner LOL!)
