Story
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
It began on New Year’s Eve. The sickness came on suddenly, and spread quickly. The fear spread even faster. Within weeks, everything people counted on began to fail them. The electrical grid sputtered; law and government collapsed - and more than half of the world’s population was decimated. Where there had been order, there was now chaos. And as the power of science and technology receded, magick rose up in its place.

This story is far fetched but still so good!
Reviewed: 10-23-21
The narrator did a great job with the vast amount of characters both male and female. I felt the story started off very similar to COVID which intrigued me immediately but obviously turned much more dystopian and fantasy than our reality. However I really enjoyed the story and can’t wait to listen to book two! I would recommend if you like dystopian/fantasy books. I will say my only negative comment was some of the dialogue with proclamations of love were a little hallmark-y it didn’t fit with the rest of the dialogue. Give this book a listen!

I loved the performance from all the actors and the story overall. However at the end I was thinking, that’s it? I guess I thought since it was half in a podcast format they would have follow up to Sadie. I know they tied up most of the loose ends but not really when it came to Sadie’s story. Still would recommend!

Story
When a banished witch falls in love with the legendary trickster Loki, she risks the wrath of the gods in this moving, subversive debut novel that reimagines Norse mythology. Angrboda’s story begins where most witches' tales end: with a burning. A punishment from Odin for refusing to provide him with knowledge of the future, the fire leaves Angrboda injured and powerless, and she flees into the farthest reaches of a remote forest. There she is found by a man who reveals himself to be Loki, and her initial distrust of him transforms into a deep and abiding love.

Story
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

I felt the narration was good. The story, at first was very depressing just one sad life after another. I’d say it picked up at the last third but honestly the ending was very predictable. Overall enjoyed it.

In The Power, the world is a recognizable place: There's a rich Nigerian boy who lounges around the family pool; a foster kid whose religious parents hide their true nature; an ambitious American politician; a tough London girl from a tricky family. But then a vital new force takes root and flourishes, causing their lives to converge with devastating effect. Teenage girls now have immense physical power: They can cause agonizing pain and even death. And, with this small twist of nature, the world drastically resets.

Honestly no lulls that I remember. Can’t wait for this to be made into a movie/series, hope they do it justice.

I thought overall the story was good. The narrator did an amazing job with different voices. However, I felt the story to be a bit repetitive. Very one step forward and two steps back. I love historical fictions and will not forget the main point of the story.
