The battle of the dead was won, but at a great cost. Sion, leader of the Mist Village, was left with only pain and regret as Richter was claimed by the abyss. What no one but the abandoned chaos seed knows is that he narrowly avoided the curse of the lich Singh, a curse that still hangs above his head. This was not Alerons best book.
Reviewed: 10-30-20
It's been almost 3 years since Aleron has written this last book and continues to promise the next one is only a few months away and then he disappears for several months and then randomly blogs that he is still working on it.
I believe Aleron burned himself out writing book 7 of this series and did a sub par job writing this one just to get something out. He wrote God's eye a completely different novel based on the same series but on another planet other than the land and the earth entirely which I wouldn't recommend it's storyline is hard to follow and the character development wasn't good. Hopefully Aleron finds his MOJO or zen or something and gets back to it because I love Richter and Sion.

loved the book wished it had been twice as long though and continued farther but only because it left me in suspense until the next one. All the other ones have atleast left me with an ending that I could be satisfied but this one ended abruptly. I hope it doesn't take anywhere near as long for the next.
