The eighth novel of the internationally acclaimed Chaos Seeds saga.
A mesmerizing tale reminiscent of the brutality of Goblin Slayer and the majesty of Game of Thrones.

Welcome my friends!
Welcome...to “The Land"!
The battle of the dead was won, but at a great cost. Sion, leader of the Mist Village, was left with only pain and regret as Richter was claimed by the abyss.
What no one but the abandoned chaos seed knows is that he narrowly avoided the curse of the lich Singh, a curse that still hangs above his head. Now, surrounded by miles of darkness and tons of crushing rock, Richter has to find his way back into the light.
The only problem is that this monster of a man is being pursued by monsters, a demon, and his own foolish choices. Faced with all the dangers of the deep dark, what will Richter say when the buried horrors of The Land come a calling and asked if he's paid his dues?
Well he'll look right back, stare that horror in the eye, and say, "Yes sir, the check is in the mail!"
Welcome back my friends! Welcome back...to The Land!

Featured Article: The top 100 series of all time
The feeling of discovering that your favorite new listen is actually the start of a series is euphoric. That you can immediately hit play and re-enter a beloved new world, or love story, or era from history is a gift to the devoted listener. But how to pick just 100 of these unique and immersive listening journeys? We defined a series as having a minimum of three books, and—after some debate—we decided the titles had to be anchored in fiction. From YA to horror to historical fiction, from fresh voices to seminal tales, hours of discovery await.

YOU WERE WARNED
hopefully we won't see this style of story where there is only a couple interactions with other characters, because all that dialogue was greatly missed. and having it all be replaced with multiple chapters of log reading, a convention, and a "summoning" wasn't enjoyable
this wasn't a good representation of the land

Spoiler Alert
As an example of above the imp from book 1 shows up and demands rictor's debt be paid but then he spends over an hour ascending and forming a "power core" and ascending to a higher "tier". He does the same shtick where he presents options and pours over options for only 1 option to be actually viable, the first being useless, the second would kill him right away, and the third being so unlikely to succeed to not be considered.
Good Continuation

In a similar sense because the actual book expanding only 5 days it meant that Nick Podehl's extensive voice range was underutilized. The 7 other books in the series had enough characters talking that his talent was shown quite well. From elderly Asians, to sensual vixens Nick's voice acting with Aleron's dialogue meant each conversation felt like there were real people chatting; but being turned into a survival story made his conversations with others few and far between.
good book nonetheless, but more of a beach episode than an actual story bearing book.
