I so enjoyed the twists and the suspicion of the future. The reader was perfect for this with her calm stoic voice. The music did help set the scene.

My only critism is the youngest voice of Selene comes off as so immature and like she has no sense at all. How narrator did a phenomenal job on the other voices she did for Selene.

I would listen to her agin and I would read another book by the same other.

I was teenager in the 70’s and this book opened my eyes to how bad prejudice was at the time. The fact that a woman in Atlanta couldn’t get a bank account or an apartment without a the signature of the closest male family member signing for her was unbelievable.

The story itself is interesting and the narrator handled the accents and Yiddish well.

I recommend this book.

The narration is excellent. But the true value is the complexity of having the story told from 2 perspectives. Getting ready to turn on Darkness and Dawn with more to go. Cradle is still my favorite series of the author but this is just below.

This review is for books 1-9. Let’s just say I can’t wait for the next book. Lucky for me the first 8 were included in my Audible Membership. Wow! I had 9 books I listened to in quick order so I had no problem remember I got earlier details. The story is unlike any I had read before and learning how each person advanced through their training to grow their skills and strength was so interesting. Dross is my favorite character. I bet the author had a blast injecting his comments with the humor and wit. I laughed out loud so many times. I hope to hear more of his funny little voice. The narrator did a great job showing the emotions and the personality. I don’t think Dross would have had the impact if I had just read it. My only issue was it took a long time for me to associate with parallel story with the judges and I think these 2 stories will only come together more as each book emerges. I sure hope there is another book. I need my Dross fix.

This book is the best one I have listened to or read this year and it is mid November. The narration was subtle and it just flowed. The perspective of the victim was unique to me and her response to her family and friends post accident was uplifting. I tend to not keep much to myself so the rest of the cast not not being as upfront as me provided a different perspective. The emotions: laugh, cry, cry, feel wonderful. Would I end it the same way probably not.

Spoiler: I want to know Ozzie was found.

I didn’t really want a story about Finn as i prefer the Twins, but it was a wonderful conclusion for many of the retinue who gave so much. The narration as always was beautiful and clear with such a range of voices from one person. I am ready for the next story.

This good captured my attention from the first and the ending was certain but unexpected at the same time. The author has a good imagination and adds the little details that matter. The narrator is fun and easy to listen to as usual. More, more, .....

It took a chapter or 2 to get there but this book was so different and I was involved from the first. I didn’t have a clue how it would resolve until at least 3/4 of the way through. I highly recommend the narrator as well.

I was dragged into the story or should I say sucked into the story and then the music played. I pretty much kept listening until I finished. Can’t wait for the next one.
